The picture is as sharp and steady as any TV in the house. Installation was indeed quick and easy using the quick-start guide. Excellent video and sound began automatically as soon as the program launched, but if you want to get into all of the features and nuances of operation you'll need to open the 60-page pdf manual from your start menu. You can get both video and sound through the same USB plug, but the preferred method is to run a second wire (supplied) from the tuner into your microphone jack or line in, if you have one. When I tried the single-cord method louder sounds were slightly choppy, on my Pentium M model 740 running at 1.73 GHz, even with its 2 MB cache and 512 MB RAM. The sound was quickly restored by clicking "menu" and selecting a different audio type after I plugged in the audio cord. (Undocumented tip: If you use the mic jack go to the advanced mic settings in the windows mixer panel to make sure mic boost is unchecked).

Hauppauge 1020 WINTV-USb2 works reasonably well and was easy to install. The picture and sound quality are good. However, if you also use a microphone you may have trouble if your sound card does not have two inputs, one for the mic and one for the sound on the WIN TV. I could not get the USB sound to work and could not get help from Hauppauge. The remote control does not always work especially to turn on the unit. I contacted Hauppauge tech service a few times with NO response. I would not depend upon them for help if you have problems with the unit

Have had this tuner about a month. Excellent product fot the price. Good viewing quality. Very reasonable capture quality. Low to medium demands on the computer's CPU. Runs cool to the touch. I would recomend this item to anyone who wants a USB TV tuner that won't bog down their computer. Software installed the first time with no problems. My laptop is an HP Pavilion 2000 series. Hope this helps someone else

I was not able to get the audio to work, neither the analog nor the digital (USB2).

After wrestling with the software configurations for 3 hours I got the audio somehow to work. The next day I tried using it again and the audio would not work.

I am really upset about the time I spent setting up this thing and it wouldn't do the most basic thing. I can return the product to the store, but the time spent on it is gone.

How frustrating.

I use this product on my notebook and I have had no issues, untill I needed to upgrade to MS vista.

As of today 7/5/07 I still can not get the audo to work and support keeps saying that they are working on vista support.

Since its still being sold, maybe they will. However I wonder if its time to look for another product.

And that's about it. The audio quality is awful. There is a lot of line noise introduced if you are not careful how well you run the audio cable. The digital audio input is even worse. Works great otherwise. No lag in audio to picture.

This device works very good, the image and sound was clear, software and remote control works very good. The channels setting was easy. The only to improve is the size, its a bit big, but its size is easy to carry yet.
