I got this card to go in my Windows 7 PC. I just bought an outdoor antennae. I put the card in amd no problems. I downloaded the software with no problems. I do not like the WinTV software-(buggy.) However, the great news is the remote they ship with this works super with Windows Media Center. I can sit in bed, push the little green button at the top of the remote and it launches Media Center and all the contorls are there--pause, skip back, skip forward. Media Center remotes are $20 bucks alone. The card picked up all of the ATSC over the Air Channels and Windows Media Center with the ready-to-go guide made recording super easy. Media Center even links to my other Media Center computer (downstairs) and lets me share recorded shows. I am sooo-happy to tell the cable company, "Good-bye!"
PS. I go to the Colbert Report.com and Smithonian.com to get my "cable-only-TV-show fix."

I purchased this product to replace a previous version of the same product that failed in service.

I purchased the original in November, 2008 for $107. It was used continuously in a PC that runs in a "warm" environment (ie 95F or more) and is always on. That card failed hard (failed to tune to local stations on a stationary antenna setup).

The replacement is half the size and was purchased for half the cost of the original. It works fine into the same antenna setup I had before. I hope it lasts longer than 3 years.

An excellent pci tuner card. You insert the card; install the drivers and WinTV software. A big reason I purchased this card is it has a separate FM\cable\Satellite connection in addition to the digital HD antenna connection. I have a good, long range, outdoor Phillips HD antenna mounted on my apartment balcony and cabled to this card along with a second Hauppauge usb tuner (off a splitter). I can record two channels at once or record one and watch another at the same time. Next I have a FM radio antenna and, the card with media center acts like a digital DJ for playing and recording FM broadcasts. Windows Media Center finds and sets up the signal for both cards and, with a DSL connection will automatically set up your digital TV guide for your area code which you can configure to automatically update, once a week or whenever. The same applies to cable or satellite. All you do is surf the guide, click what you want to watch or record, recordings are automatically saved to your hard drive. I've recorded hundreds of over the air, free, broadcast shows and movies, most of them I was totally unaware of until I bought these tuner cards and set up media center with TV guide. The card comes with WinTV, very good software in its own right, but Media center setup is the cat's meow. I don't have enough time or typing skill to list all the benefits. Very highly recommended!

I have used a PCI Hauppauge TV tuner card for years and found it to be very acceptable, but the HVR-1150 just doesn't cut it. The biggest problems that turns me off is the jerking motion of the picture on the TV and the same problem occurs with my camera display. I believe what is causing this problem is that this card is a CPU hog. My computer CPU runs at 100% all the time that I am running the TV Tuner software, it is unreal. I should add that I have a 2.8Ghz processor in my system and plenty of resources.

This TV Tunner has a really wide set of features: analog cable, ATSC and QAM Tunner, has also a FM Tunner and a Remote Control is included which happened to work with Windows Media Center as well (tested on Windows 7). Installation is easy and straightforward and the Tunner works like a charm inside Media Center. Now for the Drawbacks, I'm not sure if it's the computer or the Tunner fault but standard analog cable TV looks washed out, also the Remote will not work out of the box on Media Center, it does come with a IR blaster but is not USB, it connects directly on the Tunner, and you have to install some drivers for it, once the drivers are installed it WILL work on media center but with a little delay, you push the button on the remote and 1 second latter the action will take place, that delay takes some getting used to and some buttons on the remote will not perform the intended action in Media Center (most likely in the bundled software will work but I have not installed it), for Example "PREV CHA" will minimize or maximize the Media Center Window.

Lots of luck with this item. If it doesn't work for you either, don't expect any tech support from Hauppauge. When presented with my problem symptoms, the techs quickly revert to blaming everything but their unit. Then they show their ignorance and insult you by simply hanging up. I have rarely found such inept tech support by a company.

The recording software is a piece of crap. Most of the time it recorded the video but with no sound, or recorded an HD, 1080i, wide screen program and when you played it back it was not full-screen on the tv and the video did not look HD at all. I unistalled it before I abandoned the whole HTPC thing altogether.
