The tuner stopped working after only 7 days.

This is my first bad experience with Hauppauge products, so this isn't going to sour me on the brand.

Removing and reinstalling the USB tuner resulted in an error "USB device not recognized."

I've just plugged this in, it scanned, and it picked up every over-the-air digital channel available in the Milwaukee market. I'n using a relatively old Viewsonic VP201b 19" monitor attached to my new Toshiba Qosmio x505-Q8104x laptop. Really crisp-looking HDTV. The USB extension cable keeps the adjacent USB port available. The credit card remote works well. I am using the WinTV7 software, and it is working well. Have not tried using under Windows Media Center yet. Since I am not needing to attach an external antenna, I am able to achieve my goal of having over the air tv available while working on my laptop without cluttering my desk. Just what I wanted.

I just installed this mobile TV tuner and was stunned at how well it works. I say "stunned" because I'm in Tucson, AZ, an area surrounded by mountains so I wasn't sure what reception if any I would get. Five channels came in, all were razor sharp and there was NO buffering, transmission lags or breaking up.

I bought this tuner to get laptop TV in my motor home. I got rid of my regular TV in the rig and didn't want to invest in another one. I really recommend this product and give it 5 stars.

Compact, light, convenient, turned your laptop to an instant tv. So now, not only you can surf the net, watch dvd, you can too watch live tv A.N.Y.W.H.E.R.E. just do a local scan. This is the best ever product for laptop = it is a MUST HAVE item. Antenna works okay but attach another portable antenna on the desk nearby for better reception. Enjoy your traveling with local tv stations anywhere. OH! The internal integrated antenna is collasped inside USB and hard to see because of its slick, smooth, and flawless design it is located at the corner feel for the tiny rib and pull it out with your finger nail, those of you with fat fingers like mine be very courteous and ask a lady for help, there is no shame when the game is on the line. We were watching two games at the same time and the only hard thing is knowing when NOT to "cheer" especially when your kid's soccer team just got nailed.

Bought this at the store from interest in the new mobile DTV channels. Unfortunately the dinky built-in antenna was no use at all indoors, and not so great out in my yard or around town. No signal on the one local ATSC-M/H freq (PBS affiliate) and worse-than-expected reception for the rest of my channels; only a few smooth video feeds when testing in central Sacramento County, where even the SF Bay Area stations come in over a good roof antenna setup. An MCX-to-F adapter is included so you can very easily connect an old pair of VHF rabbit ears (but that defeats the point of a "portable tuner").

Hauppauge software is OK; writes out MPEG-2 transport streams and has a simple DVR with guide integration through TitanTV.com. Supposedly it can handle multiple USB adapters. There is no way to manually tune and the base line-up has to be created in the 5-10 minute setup wizard. BTW the signal strength & monitoring via WinTV is apparently disabled on this model. Remote is a little 3" CR2025 thing, which stops working if the background helper app crashes (it's an NT service but somehow fails to restart).

Clear QAM: works fine, but again, how does that matter for a mobile USB 2.0 tuner? Certain freqs dropped out/got filtered on me the next week, though I suspect that's Comcast at work. With dozens of similar TV adapters available I find no particular reason to recommend this one, unless you have a preference for the WinTV s/w--which is serviceable but not quite as slick as Media Center.

Install CD was not readable. Went to download software from Hauppauge. All went well until Hauppauge required original CD to activate the software. In the 21st century, software should be able to identify the device (while plugged in) is legit and finish software install.

Eleven months and two days. That's how long this tuner worked for me.

It was doing full time duty in a multi-tuner home theater PC (HTPC) for all of that time, but it just recently stopped functioning. Removing and reinstalling the USB tuner resulted in an error "USB device not recognized." The result was the same, regardless of trying it in three different systems.

When it worked, it was the most sensitive tuner that I had available. I also have two Hauppauge HVR-2250s and an older HVR-950. All are used for over-the-air reception in the fringes of a major metropolitan area, with the appropriately large, roof-mounted antenna. Since the Aero-M was the most sensitive, I usually set it for recording my most troublesome channels. Snapstream's BeyondTV software allows that kind of control in my HTPC.

But, alas, no more. It's going back to Hauppauge for warranty service or replacement. As of this writing, Amazon and most retailers show the Aero-M as discontinued. Hopefully, that will mean that Hauppauge will replace it with another item. Since my HVR-950 has never failed me, I'll be perfectly happy with that as a replacement, but that's up to the manufacturer. We'll see....

The tuner stopped working after only 7 days. First the light went out but the tuner still functioned then it could not find the atsc signals but the computer still recognized the usb device. I have in the past bought Hauppauge devices but know I am done. I have already bought a competitors device and it is working flawlessly.

I would not suggest the purchase of this unit.
