I wanted a no frills, good quality, tuner card to hook my computer to a VCR so I could transfer VHS tapes to DVD... This card comes, like it says, in a "white box", with just a driver CD and a little one page installation guide... I installed it easily in a Dell Dimension E521 computer (with Vista Home Premium Version)... I downloaded the latest Vista drivers and the WinTV2000 software from the Hauppauge support site, then I connected the VCR to the Card with a piece of standard coax TV cable, and set the WinTV2000 software to receive "cable" on channel 3... after a few trial and error experiments, I've been copying tapes ever since. The software puts out MPEG files which, although they will play on a computer just fine, need further processing before they will work with a "real" DVD player like a DVD movie player hooked up to your living room TV... I have been making my DVD's with Windows MovieMaker and Windows DVD-maker which come with my version of Vista - it's slow going, but that has nothing to do with the Hauppauge tuner card or software. I can't imagine a better deal than this card; the price is right and it performs flawlessly.

Bought this card specifically to work with MythTv. Very easy set-up, both with KnoppMyth and Ubuntu/MythTv. Couldn't be easier--very highly recommended, BUT if I had to do it over, I'd purchase the 150 card WITH the remote (This would be a good second card). However, this does work well, just realize that you'll need to use the computer to navigate through the MythTV menus.

Excellent tuner. Easy to install, captures quality video and audio, and works with most video software, including Roxio 9. I use it mostly for converting VHS tapes into digital format. Serves me well.
