I usually reserve the word, 'Breathtaking', for the photographs of French photographer, Sarah Moon, and the American photographer, Deborah Turbeville. However, 'Haute Couture: The Polaroids of Cathleen Naundorf', is in fact a stunning collection of the classic beauty of high fashion and the uniqueness of the timeless Polaroid technique.
At first I felt Naundorf's photographs were a bit derivative of Moon and Turbeville, both 30 years older than Naundorf, but the photographs in this book are so completely spellbinding it's easy to forget the similarities and simply enjoy the beauty within.
'Haute Couture: The Polaroids of Cathleen Naundorf', does not only capture the viewer with the beauty on every page, the book is aesthetically gorgeous as well.
This book is breathtaking in every sense of the word...perfect.
