Radial-Shape 2 Havahart Wireless Fence for Small Dogs

The Radial-Shape 2 Wireless Dog Fence is the industry’s most advanced do-it-yourself, dog containment system. The only Wireless Radial Dog Fence to cover up to 11 Acres with in-home boundary breach alerts and a wider Trigger Zone to keep your dog safe.

Makes Containing Your Dog Safe & Easy

Do you want to contain your dog safely, without digging wires? The Havahart Wireless Radial-Shape2 Wireless Dog Fence is the first digital wireless dog containment system to safely contain your dog by creating a circular wireless boundary ranging from 40-400 feet in any direction from the fence controller - set up takes about 60 minutes!

So How Does It Work?

The team of engineers at Havahart Wireless utilized the same technology used by NASA to design a patented Wireless Dog Fence that creates a Fence Boundary without wires or digging. The unique two-way communication between the Controller and Collar helps to keep your dog within the confines of the Fence Boundary you've set for him. The system has a wider Trigger Zone, which was designed to maximize your dog’s safety by ensuring he stays within the Boundary. A wider Trigger Zone provides your dog with more time to be issued a correction, providing him with the opportunity to turn back into the Roaming Area. When your dog reaches the Fence Boundary and continues into the Trigger Zone, the Controller sends a signal to the Collar to take corrective action in the form of a tone or a pulsing custimizable correction. If your dog moves into the Trigger Zone, they will not be corrected for returning into the Roaming Area. This Wireless Dog Fence has a 30-second time out feature built into the system for your dog's safety.

The system can contain up to two dogs, with the ability to customize the correction level for each dog. The Integrated Motion Sensor Technology helps to conserve the rechargeable Collar Battery life when the Collar is not moving.

Havahart Wireless Dog Fence Sytems are designed to be effective but are not appropriate for all properties. Please review specifications before purchasing this system.

The goal of Havahart Wireless is to protect your pet.

System Safety Features

Your dog’s safety is the top priority of Havahart Wireless. Before you purchase and use the system, please read all of the important safety reminders to make sure you are comfortable adhering to the recommendations.

Customized Correction: You are able to customize the correction level of up to two Collars. You can choose a correction that is suitable for the size, age, and temperament of your dog(s). There are six different settings, including Tone-Only and five Static corrections. The default correction level is Tone-Only.

Wider Trigger Zone: Havahart Wireless created a wider Trigger Zone - 6 to 13 feet - to keep your dog safe and away from danger. Your dog will be corrected anywhere within this 6 - 13 feet zone.

Boundary Breach Alerts: If your dog does breach the Boundary, an audible alert will trigger on your Controller and notify you within your home.

Safety Time-Out: A 30-second time-out feature is a standard feature with Havahart Wireless dog fences. You set the Collar to tone or one of the five Static correction levels. Your dog will stop being corrected after 30-seconds or when they return back to the Roaming Area.

Set-Up is a Breeze

The accompanying Instruction Manual and Quick Setup Guide make setting up this wireless dog fence fast. Setup typically takes about an hour from opening the box to testing the Fence Boundary.

There is no guess work! The easy-to-read digital LCD screen lets you set the desired distance of your Fence Boundary and set the customized correction levels for up to two dogs in just a few simple steps. With Boundary Breach Alerts and the ability to monitor Battery life, you can keep track of what is most precious to you. It’s that easy!

Proper training of your dog is the most crucial element to ensure the safe and successful operation of your Havahart Wireless Dog Fence. Training will take approximately three weeks to complete. This allows your dog time to understand the Training Flags and Trigger Zone associated with the correction being issued by the Collar.

Training Your Dog is Important

You are encouraged to commit to properly and thoroughly training your dog so he can learn his new boundaries. Be sure to follow the Instruction Manual that comes with your system. It is important to complete the entire training process without skipping any phases. You should plan on spending 10-15 minutes, 2-3 times a day, training your dog, as outlined below:

Collar Features

For your dog’s safety, it is vet-recommended that the collar not be worn for longer than 12 consecutive hours.

Water Resistant Collar - The Radial-Shape2 Collar for Small Dogs is water resistant, which enables it to handle splashes from puddles and the water bowl. This is not the same as waterproof. Havahart Wireless does not recommend submersing the Collar completely in water.

Collar Strap and Fit - The Radial-Shape 2 Wireless Dog Fence for Small Dogs from Havahart Wireless features a rubberized Collar strap (with stainless steel buckle) that houses the patented antennas. This water resistant Collar has a sturdy snap buckle and fits dogs with neck sizes ranging from 10 to 17 inches. The Collar is also lightweight, weighing just 4.2 ounces. If you need a larger size collar, Havahart Wireless does have a large dog system available (5134G2), which features the same size housing; the difference lies in the Collar construction and strap size.

Name Your Collars - During setup of your Radial-Shape2 Wireless Fence System, you can name the Collar so if you’re containing more than one dog, all correction settings can be customized and you clearly understand which Collar goes to which dog.

Battery - The Collar requires one rechargeable Battery for operation. Battery life is dependent on the activity level of your dog and the length of time the system is on, however, a Battery will typically last for one to three days. Two Batteries come with the system so you can always keep one charged.

Called customer support at Havahart and was very disappointed with their customer service.

The collar worked wonderfully for the first 3 weeks then started draining the batteries faster and faster until they would only last about 5 minutes.
Ben
Recommended only if you have a square lot, no metal structures and no large structures outside of your house that would alter/disrupt the signals.

Size Name: Medium-Large Dog Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
We live in a neighborhood where almost every house has a dog or dogs. I do not have a wireless or invisible fence, but many of our neighbors do. I know that the invisible or wireless fences don't always work, because if a dog wants to chase a squirrel, cat, chipmunk or rabbit bad enough, that dog will take the shock through the barrier and once out of the wired area, the dog is out and down the block. Our one neighbor has 2 dogs with the underground wire and one dog always breaks the barrier while the other dog has never gone beyond the wire. The problem with invisible or wireless fences is that you never know if your dog will stay in the barrier or break out and keep going until you've spent the money to find out.

Our backyard is fenced for the dog and the front is not. I wanted this Havahart Wireless Fence for two reasons, to give the dog some play space in the unfenced front yard with me and to be able to go anywhere and keep the dog in a confined area. When I say to be able to go anywhere, I mean if we go camping, on picnics, visiting friends or leaving the dog with a relative. The beauty of a Wireless Fence, is NO wire- meaning you can take the controller, collar and your dog anywhere. The portability concept is wonderful- IF it works.

The set up of this Havahart Wireless Fence is unbelievably easy. You charge the batteries- they give you 2, but only one is in the collar. It's great to have the extra battery to quickly replace the one in the collar when it needs recharging. You set up the radius you want to contain your dog's space in, on the controller. You then place the controller on an outside wall in your home. Then measure the outside space and flag the perimeter- our front is 52 feet by 50 feet- you must measure in a circle- so we flagged 50 feet.

We have been having some trouble with our beagle, Polly. None of us knew that beagles could climb trees and fences when they wanted to see what was on the other side of the fence. But she can. And she does. So far the bailout fees have been about $500. Our real concern, though, is that on the other side of the woods behind our backyard is a county highway. The speed limit is 50 but it's a dangerous world for puppies and other small animals.

Anyway, you can let Polly out in the back yard and then in a few minutes see her running in circles in the front yard. You can actually be standing next to her, thinking you are watching her, and she will turn up on the other side of the fence. It's like the fence is invisible to her. We have repaired and re-repaired and blocked access to trees and yet the dog is smarter than the fence. She can go under or go over. Either is just like walking for her.

The Havahart Wireless 5134G2 Radial-Shape 2 Wireless Fence could not have been easier to set up. I charged the batteries the night before and was planning on spending hours figuring out complicated formulas but none of that has been necessary. The unit should be placed on an outside wall. On the setup menu, it asks you what number you want the radius to be. Then the collar needs to be fit pretty snugly so that the points are connected to the dog's skin. The included collar is already connected. I didn't bother with the flags because Polly eats everything.

The other handy part of this is it lets you know with a beep when your dog is at the perimeter.

I train my year old Labrador with a wireless collar by Tri Tronics and she responds well even on the low and medium settings but she goes right through this fence when it is set on the highest setting. I tested it with their "heart" tester and it was working. When I called customer support to see if I was doing something wrong they said to shave my dog's neck! Also you have to change the rechargeable batteries every day. I liked the extra range it offered so that wouldn't be too big a deal for me if it worked. But what is most upsetting is not the collar but the company.

They only have 5 star reviews on their website. That's always suspicious. I posted a generous two star review for the product and simply said that it was to weak for my dog. I asked customer support if they screened their reviews and they assured me every review gets posted. They still haven't posted my review even though I received an email confirming it would be. Three more 5 star reviews have been posted since then. The company is not honest so I wouldn't trust anything they make or promote. Don't believe the reviews on their site.

The collar worked wonderfully for the first 3 weeks then started draining the batteries faster and faster until they would only last about 5 minutes. I called Havahart and was told you can't use the collar if you have any trees, or cars, or appliances, or a garage that might get in the way. This is made for an open field only. They refused a return because it was past the 30 days (by 5 days). Havahart does not stand behind their products. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.
