The Most Advanced Circular-Shaped Wireless Dog Fence

Stretch the boundaries of wireless dog fencing with the Radial-Shape Havahart Wireless Dog Fence--the industry's most advanced do-it-yourself, dog containment system that's also easy to use and economical. This is the world's first digital wireless dog containment system to offer a Roaming Area that can expand the fence radius from 40 feet up to 400 feet--that is up to 11.5 acres and close to 20 times more Roaming Area than provided by the leading brand. Capable of containing up to 2 dogs, this wireless dog fence combines powerful new breakthrough technology with a stylish, compact Controller. It is easy to install with no need for trench digging. In less than 1 hour you can have your wireless fence up and running and begin training your dog.

Radial-Shape Havahart Wireless Dog Fence

Cutting Edge Technology Makes Constant Communication Possible

Both the Havahart Wireless Collar and the Controller contain nanoLOC TRX 2.4 GHz transceiver chipsets that send and receive radio transmissions from their antennas. While other brands utilize similar technology, Havahart Wireless was able to enhance the chipsets with modular signal amplification, strategic distortion filtering and complex algorithms. These 3 enhancements boost the performance of the Havahart Wireless system over the competition giving it enhanced signal strength, smarter interference filtering and more reliable communication between the Collar and the Controller to determine the distance to your dog.

To avoid signal blockage from your dog, Havahart Wireless strategically placed the antennas inside the Collar strap. This insures that the antennas can rest on the sides of your dog's neck and have enhanced communication with the Controller. Constant, reliable wireless communication between the Controller and the Havahart Wireless Collar enables the system to track and tell you the real-time distance to your dog. Exclusive Integrated Motion Sensor Technology conserves Collar battery life when the Collar is not moving.

Roaming area

The system forms a circular shaped boundary that has a wider Trigger Zone specifically designed to keep your dog safe inside the Roaming Area and away from danger. When your dog reaches your desired fence radius distance inside the Trigger Zone, the Controller sends a signal to the Collar to take corrective action.

Safety Made a Top Priority

With a safety shut-off for the correction cycle included as a standard feature, Havahart Wireless made the safety of your dog a top priority. With one tone only and five different static correction levels, you can choose the correction level that is best for your dog. The correction cycle persists until the dog returns 10 feet back inside the Roaming Area or until the safety shut-off feature activates after 30 seconds. Unlike an underground wire fence, the Radial-Shape Wireless Dog Fence will not correct your dog for returning back into the Roaming Area.

Small, Portable Controller

A fraction of the size of competitive systems, the sleek 5-inch tall fence controller allows for ideal yet discrete placement in your home, giving your dog maximum Roaming Area. This system is also completely portable. Take the system with you when you move or go on vacation.

Digital Set-up and Digital Alerts

The easy-to-read digital LCD screen lets you set the exact distance of your fence boundary and customize correction levels for up to 2 dogs in just a few simple steps. With boundary breach and low Collar battery alerts, you can keep track of what is most precious to you. It's that easy.

Training Your Dog: Program Overview

Proper training of your dog is the most crucial element to ensure the safe and successful operation of your Havahart Wireless Dog Fence. Below is an overview of the Havahart Wireless training program. It is important that you follow the instruction manual and complete the entire training process without skipping any phases. Proper training is your most valuable key to success!

Keep your sessions short and frequent--approximately 15 minutes long, 2-3 times a day.
  • Be firm, consistent and patient.
  • End sessions with lots of playtime and praise.
  • HAVE FUN!
Preliminary Phase through Phase 2
Preliminary Phase: Flag Awareness Training (Optional)

This phase allows your dog to become familiar and comfortable with the Training Flags. Your dog will wear the Havahart Wireless Collar, but the wireless electric dog fence should be TURNED OFF.

Phase 1: Passive Training (Days 1-3)

Set the Havahart Wireless Collar to Tone-only to introduce your dog to the Trigger Zone and teach him to move away from the flags upon hearing tone.

Phase 2: Active Training (Days 4-7)

Set the Havahart Wireless Collar to a low static correction level to help discourage your dog from going beyond the Trigger Zone.

Phase 3 through Phase 5
Phase 3: On-Leash Distractions (Days 8-11)

Teach your dog to ignore distractions that might tempt him to go outside the Trigger Zone.

Phase 4: Off-Leash Supervision (Days 12-15)

Similar to on-leash distraction training, take things one step further by removing the leash. This phase will encourage your dog to move freely within the Roaming Area.

Phase 5: Dog Monitoring (Days 16 and Beyond)

Your dog should be comfortable within the Roaming Area and reluctant to cross into the Trigger Zone with or without distractions. You should keep an eye on your dog after completing the training and monitor his behavior. Additional training may prove to be necessary. After three additional weeks of successful dog containment, you can begin to gradually remove the training flags by taking away every other flag, every few days.

Remember every dog is unique and may respond differently depending on age, size, temperament and ability to learn. Adjust your training accordingly.

Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
I have a little pug dog. Great little dogs by the way, I'd give them a 5 out of 5! Anyway, my lucky pug lives in a house that sits on about 1 acre. The street is about 20 yards in front of the house, and we don't have a fence. The back of the house is a hill with trees, and again, no fences. He is usually good about sticking with me when we are outside, and our street isn't busy, BUT I still have to watch him every minute. I was looking for a solution where I could at least let him be outside by himself when I am home (with me inside OR outside), and this solution delivered the goods.

Setup is easy. The unit comes with EVERYTHING you need, including TWO special rechargeable batteries for the collar, and plenty of marking flags (optional for you to use) where you can outline the perimeter of the fence. The unit is completely adjustable in level of shock (from just an auditory alarm to a pretty good jolt). The system also allows for multiple collars, with varying shock levels and perimeters. But I only have the one dog, so I just needed to setup the one collar that came with the kit.

So after charging the battery and turning on the main unit, it was time to locate the perimeter. The system is completely adjustable in 1 foot increments, from 40 feet all the way to 400 (as I recall ... I wound up going with a radius of about 100 feet). You can "test" the perimeter by walking around with the collar to see when the alarm sounds on the collar, and on the unit. Yes - if there is one GREAT feature that I wasn't expecting, it is the alarm on the main unit. So if the dog is outside and you are inside, you'll hear the alarm go off on the main unit if he crosses the line. In addition, the collar sounds an alarm first, and then a few seconds later applies the shock, so the dog quickly learns that if he hears the alarm it is time to turn tail and run. The marking flags can be put up as you locate the full perimeter (which is not a "perfect" circle, since the design of your house and geography will determine the exact perimeter), so if the dog sees the flags, they quickly learn to not go beyond that point. And once they learn the approximate perimeter, then you can put up the flags for good.

So is there anything I didn't like? Well, the perimeter range seemed to vary in some of the "weaker" signal areas. In other words, sometimes the boundary seems to vary + or - about 10 feet. But if you have a large area, that really isn't a big deal. Also, this solution is great for my situation, but if you live in a small yard near a busy street, I wouldn't risk the safety of your pet ... just spring for a real fence. Finally, the size of the collar is a little bit bulky, but it didn't bother my dog at all.

In summary, if you are looking for a fast and inexpensive solution to keep your dog(s) in your yard, then I would highly recommend this product!

Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
My family has actually had this product since it was released, so I've had more of an opportunity to "test" it out before receiving mine. Once I saw it was available on Vine, I jumped at the opportunity to give it a whirl on my dogs; a Black Lab and a Cocker Spaniel. It took about 3 days of them constantly testing the roaming area, but they've now gotten used to it and seem to accept their new boundary. They've got an approximate 200ft roaming area, which gives them plenty of room to play without being corrected.

Speaking of correction, I actually tried it on myself. (Come on, who HASN'T done this?? *wink*) set to level 5 and although I definitely knew it was there, it wasn't as dramatic as some would lead you to believe. It feels just like a static shock during the winter, which is no coincidence, as this is exactly how the product is designed. My dogs only needed a Level 3 correction, so it's just enough to let them know where they shouldn't be. I put the flags up, but I'm not totally sure they're necessary. Dogs are quite smart, and mine were able to tell when they were approaching the boundary before I installed the flags, but it never hurts to have a "warning".

Although this runs on the same 2.4ghz frequency as wireless routers, cordless phones, etc. I noticed no discernible interference caused by or received by normal operation. I have it set up in my kitchen, where the reception area favors the backyard, where the dogs stay. We (unfortunately) have aluminum siding, but the base unit is installed right next to the kitchen window and it doesn't seem to be affected too much.

This is a GREAT alternative to wiring your back yard, and quite probably the best wireless solution out there. It's easy to setup, doesn't take up a whole table like the competition and works well without unnecessarily turning your K-9 buddies into light fixtures. :) My only "gripe" is the size of the collar, but I totally understand with current tech, it pretty much HAS to be that size. The competitors collars are no better, so no stars are deducted. Unfortunately, there aren't many products released that "just work", but it's apparent Havahart did their homework, and this one does.

Recommended.

We got the circular wireless fence for two large Bernese Mountain dogs. Setup was fairly easy and the dogs seem to have trained within days. The problem is that the collars are poorly designed--the caps (which we tightened appropriately on both collars) on the battery case came off of two different collars at two different times and were lost somewhere on an 11 acre area along with the batteries. 2 days after purchasing a $500 system we have to shell out another 70 for enough caps and batteries to deal with poor collar design.
