I rode with the Mike Vax Kenton alumni band for 5 days in 2008. I think twelve of the ninteen players were alumni. The younger guys, Stan would have been proud to have them in his band. Mike Vax is an excellent leader, trumpet player and good guy. If you get a chance go see the band in 2011, when they are going on an extensive tour to celebrate Stan's 100th birthday; don't miss it. Buy this CD; you will not be sorry. Jack Hanna

Mike Vax's Band swings but is not a Kenton alumni band. There are a few guys I was acquainted with and they perform the charts with gusto and are fine musicians. I really liked the arrangemenes and performance.
