5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Fun Christmas Album!, December 12, 2003
By
This review is from: Have a Boom Boom Christmas (Audio CD)
Freddy Cannon has put together a very fun and entertaining Christmas album that everyone is sure to enjoy. It includes some new songs that Freddy penned (such as the catchy "Santa is Here to Stay") and some old chestnuts like only Freddy can do them. There are also some novelty songs such as "Santa has Two Left Feet" and "Santa(He's Too Fat For Me)." All-in-all, a must have for your Christmas album collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Weak "Woos," but totally Boom Boom fun, December 14, 2011
This review is from: Have a Boom Boom Christmas (Audio CD)
This is one of my favorite Christmas albums because it is soooo Freddy Cannon and it's as kitschy corny as all get out!! I've picked up a few Yule Tide offerings from similarly unique artists, expecting to hear all the hallmarks that make the artist memorable while doing the bells and holy hoo haw, only to have them disappoint me big time by performing a perfect but faceless recreation of holiday standards I could get anywhere. There are five original Freddy Cannon songs here and they all mix the basic "Palisades Park" rock vibe with lyrics about aspects of the evolving Christmas story that don't get as much press as some others. I never contemplated Santa's prowess on the dance floor, but Freddy informs us that "Santa's Got Two Left Feet." There are plenty of old chestnuts given the patented Cannon make over too. He may be past his prime, but he didn't make a Christmas album when he was riding the top of the charts so this will have to do. If Christmas to you is a time to get behind all the crass, commercial, silly, nostalgic, pretentious music that makes December so "special," snatch this up before it disappears. If you are a more traditional reveler, this will probably leave you scratching your head. Boom boom, wooo, boom boom!!

1.0 out of 5 stars HILARIOUSLY BAD!, August 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Have a Boom Boom Christmas (Audio CD)
I was thinking this CD was Freddy in his prime---it is a 60 year old Freddy, and he is certainly not in his prime! I picked this up at my post office box, and popped it in the car player immediately. I, literally, was laughing out loud at the very first track. It's the WORST of Freddy Cannon. Similar to the worst of American Idol. Play a track or two for friends at Xmas just to see their facial reactions.
