5.0 out of 5 stars loud, sloppy rock and roll but thats what makes it great
While this CD doesn't have any new material and one can get all this from a hundred different sources other than 'Have Faith', its great. It focuses on the music and not the psycho-babble in-between the songs like many of his other releases. Yes, its sloppy, from the playing to the mixing, but its fun to listen to. Johnny blows right through 'Too Much Junkie...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rusty Gold
When compared to the Heartbreakers' 79 live album, or even 'Add Water and Stir' (the posthumous double live album from '91), this album isn't all that spectacular, regardless of what this other reviewer might believe. On top of that, the lack of any audience noise (if there even IS an audience) makes me believe this is actually a live 'studio' recording.

On top of that, the lack of any audience noise (if there even IS an audience) makes me believe this is actually a live 'studio' recording.

The performance isn't less than entertaining, but even the 'In Cold Blood' album (which compiles several live tracks) is a much better attempt at a live album than this one. It's budget priced, but runs at under 40 minutes.

Being a 'take the money and run' performance, notwithstanding, it's still better than a lot of crap that's currently out on the market, including subsequent NY Dolls bootlegs like 'Back in the U.S.A.'. But get the majority of his studio albums, and check this out if you think it's not enough.

By no means should you start out with this one, though.

It focuses on the music and not the psycho-babble in-between the songs like many of his other releases. Yes, its sloppy, from the playing to the mixing, but its fun to listen to. Johnny blows right through 'Too Much Junkie Business', 'Chinese Rocks', and 'Born to Lose' in about 10 minutes with no breaks between the songs. The end of 'Born To Lose' has him scrambling over the guitar and it fades out, making you want to hear more from this show. The last 4 songs are acoustic and are 'ok', but its the first 8 songs that makes the release very enjoyable. Note: Should be played as loud as possible!

4.0 out of 5 stars Johnny Thunders "Have Faith", February 18, 2011

A good live set from Japan in 1988. Decent recording and Thunders was on his game. The CD closes with some acoustic stuff which gives it some variance. It's not he's put out anything new, so get it while you can. Recommended.
