The most important thing for me in this book is the reassurance that somewhere inside, I still love God. I was beginning to think I'd lost my faith, I'd even told God "I give up on you." But I really didn't mean it. I felt like I was a failure and not good enough for God any more, because I couldn't hold back my own depression and self-hate. But Wilkerson writes, "If you were running from God, you could probably understand why the testing and severe trials kept coming on... But you are not running, not rejecting Him in any way... You yearn to please God and want only to serve Him with all that is in you. That is why your hurting is so debilitating... From somewhere deep inside you, a voice whispers, 'Maybe I'm defective..."

How did Wilkerson know? I don't cry, but reading that made me cry.

He talks later about the crosses we have to bear. I guess mine is heavy sometimes. I wanted to die. I wanted to remove my darkness from God's light in this world. But this book has helped me to see I am not alone among Christians.

Because I don't understand real love, I often feel separated from God's love. That in turn leads to doubt about whether I'm truly Christian. Wilkerson discusses this also, and says that doubt itself is an insidious enemy. If I can call doubt my enemy, I can fight it with God's help.

I didn't know if I'd read this book because I really was ready to give up. But, it came along at the right time, and had the right title, too.

This book is my second bible so to speak. I have read it at least 5 times. It gives me hope when I feel so worthless at times. It reasures me that I am free from sins grip even thought I don't usually feel that way. The most important point I got from this book is that God is always there to help me in the fight to do his will and that I need to trust in him and not in my own strength to overcome any temptation that I may encounter. Its a great uplifting book that will get you though many a trial along with your Bible of course.

I purchased the book, for the simple fact that I did feel like giving up. I brought it home thumbed through it, then put it down; thinking to myself another book about God and I won't read it. Needless to say I began at page one, and went through the entire book. I could not believe the information that the author put in the pages hit home to the reality that God really loves you and is right there waiting to pick you back up now that your down. My recommendation, if you are distressed with life and feeling that God cannot love you because of sin in your life then this book is for you. Take Care.

I came across this book in a hospital gift shop about eight years ago. I had recently gone through a terrible break up and experience betrayal. I was hurting and even tough I was a Christian, it shook my faith. This book helped me to heal and I have grown tremendously, because of it.

I bought this book purely by accident. I bought it because I am having marriage problem. The very night that I got this book, I found out my wife is having an affair. Out of despration, I started to read the book, and it is getting me through the toughest time. Especially Chapter 12 - "God has not forgotten you", really gave me a new perspective on the power of Faith and Prayer. My problems are still there, but I am feeling so much better now that I know God is with me every step of the way.

Christians, unite!!! We always knew Satan was out to get us, but this author explains exactly how. Don't feel bad, don't feel sad, pick up this book, and uplift yourself. I recommend it to be used along with your daily Bible study. We all need some strong words of edification, and this book provides plenty.

I bought this book over 20 years ago when I was at my lowest point in life. Nothing could bring me out of it until I read "Have You Felt Like Giving Up Lately". David Wilkerson has a powerful way of empathizing with you. No matter how terrible your problems may be, he convinces you that God understands...kind of a "been there, done that" with love. And realizing that you are not alone in your struggles is a great comfort to your hurting heart. David gently and lovingly helps you see your life through God's eyes and the end result is a long term, positive "attitude adjustment".

I realized that I pulled this book off my shelf when again at a low point in life, literally 10 and now 20 years later. With this most recent read, I didn't even get through 1/2 the book before I found myself well adjusted again (heh, heh, kind of like chiropractics). This is one book you'll want to hold on to. And it's a much healthier way to pull yourself out of depression and hopelessness then any antidepressant drug!!!

This is not a religious book, no hell and brimstone when you turn the pages. I was not a Christian at the time and I had just witnessed my best friends death. When I read this book but I was searching for answers.

This book saved my life at a most desparate time. David Wilkerson knows tough times and his words of encouragement had me weeping in public as I was reading it. This man has been an bright light to many troubled people. He will be greatly rewarded for his compassion and servants heart.

This is THE finest book I have read on Christian living in this modern age. I have reread it many times and have given it to many people. I just ordered another box to give out!!!!!

At the moment of my greatest despair i was in a truck stop in 1995. i had just told God i give up and if He wanted me to do anything about it He would have to show me. Literally at that moment I glanced over and saw this book in the bookstand. this book got me through. p
