5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!
If you're a teen who is bored with your room, or think that it's time for a change, this is the book you need. Lynette Jennings, star of the Discovery Channel's "Lynette Jennings Design" has written a wonderful book for teens who want to redecorate their rooms. The book includes 28 projects, and four themes. (Nature Girl, Funky Chick, Flower Power, and Teddy Bears. If...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very stupid book, December 19, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Have Fun with Your Room : 28 Cool Projects for Teens (Paperback)
I purchased this book thinking that it would have good ways to make my boring room look a bit interesting, but I, as a thirteen-year-old, wasn't impressed with the ideas in the book. Condratitory to what the author says, the projects were NOT fun, NOT cheap, NOT for a teen audience, NOT interesting, and NOT a good addition to your room whatsoever. The four themes in this book, which include flowers, teddy bears, funky, and nature, all look as if they were made for the ten-and-under age group. I mean, seriously, what teen devotes their whole room to TEDDY BEARS and decorate every inch with the strange projects in this book? The ideas for the projects are unoriginal, strange, and lame. For example, some of the ideas suggests that you splatter your bedroom wall with multi-colored paints, make a scrunchie holder out of a recycled soda bottle, put a headboard behind your bed that says "I Love Teddy Bears," and so on. Yeah, I know, it's stupid and immature. So if you want a GOOD book that will give you some GOOD room decorating project ideas, definitely stay clear of this one!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not really for teens, May 31, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Have Fun with Your Room : 28 Cool Projects for Teens (Paperback)
If I had purchased this book for a teen, I would have been really disappointed. The projects are too "young" for teens! The title really should have read "for Pre-teens".
My pre-teen was relatively happy with the ideas in the book. She got a few cool ideas from it and still had a great time redecorating her room.

1.0 out of 5 stars Come on, STARGYMNAST, November 14, 2004
This review is from: Have Fun with Your Room : 28 Cool Projects for Teens (Paperback)
Ok, just by looking at the cover of this book, you get the idea that it isn't for anyone over the age of 10. Once you flip through the pages, that becomes more and more apparent. So, what is STARGYMNAST thinking? She sounds like a walking advertisement for Lynette Jennings.
Actual teenagers will have absolutely no interest in this book unless they're on Trading Spaces and want to horrify their neighbor. Go find something sophisticated.

1.0 out of 5 stars WORSE BOOK EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 28, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Have Fun with Your Room : 28 Cool Projects for Teens (Paperback)
Never have i read something so awful! The "projects" were hideous! only one idea was kinda ok! only one! Unless you think hanging momentos on a tree branch and putting it in a corner is a great idea then buy this book but if it you don't, avoid this book like the plague! Man, what a bad book!

If you're confused about which theme to choose, you can take the quiz at the beginning of the book which will help you decide) Each theme includes at least 6 fun projects that are easy to do and don't require any expensive materials. In fact, Lynnete even says in the introduction that the rooms in the book were created on a baby-sitter's budget, so you won't have to spend tons of money. Some projects include window toppers, headboards, bulletin boards, decorating pillows and lampshades, cool paint techniques, and much more. This is a fantastic book for any teen girl who thinks their room is to ho-hum and wants to change it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hands down, this is one of the worst decorating books I have ever read!, September 9, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Have Fun with Your Room : 28 Cool Projects for Teens (Paperback)
Leafing through this book at the library, it looked pretty neat, but boy was I wrong! The craft projects look like something a first grader would make in arts and crafts, bring home to put in their room and by third grade take it down and hide it and hope nobody else ever sees it! What girl over the age of eight would want to take their pillowcase and "decorate" it with buttons and ribbon?! They've got twenty-seven projects in the book and there were only seven exceptable ones and even those looked too complicated. Even the questionnare at the begining of the book to "help you figure out your style" was pityful, and the supposedly "after" pictures of the room were AWFUL! I don't even think the beds were made! The only reason to even get this book from the library would be to have a good laugh. If you're really looking for a book to help you decorate your room, this one's just a waste of your time.

P.S. If you really want a neat book on decorating your room, get Room for You: Find Your Style and Make Your Room Say You! (American Girl Library (Paperback)), and It's Your Room: A Decorating Guide for Real Kids!

What teenager would want a teddy bear room? This book only has 4 basic ideas for a room and they all kind of suck. If you want this book , check and see if its at your library because its a waste of money.
