Have Gun Will Travel DVD set,

This review is from: Have Gun Will Travel: Seasons One-Four (DVD)
This boxed set of the complete season one through four is absolutely excellent. The menu is easy to navigate and there is a section that profiles actors, directors, etc. on each episode. Overall, the quality of the picture and sound is excellent and the set is very collectable and useful for both the collector and the historian. I am looking forward to see the entire series one day soon.

My favorite show of all time,

Paladin was the greatest. Absolutely my favorite show of all time.
He was a man of peace. He didn't want to use force, but if he had to he would use as much force as necessary to bring peace. If it weren't for his code of ethics, he would be someone to avoid at all costs. If he ever turned to crime, he would be one of the most formidable of bandits, and probably a criminal mastermind. But he wanted the good from people. He enjoyed the finer rewards of society and culture, but he equally enjoyed the simple home cooked meal with regular folk. He courted the high society city ladies, but he was also appreciated the decency of women of the country. But if you were dishonest or lied to him, it didn't matter what class, race, or gender you were, and he would not hesitate to let you know how displeased he was with you. He was a man who loved wisdom and tried to protect the innocent, the downtrodden, the victims. And he was very good with a gun. Best not get on his bad side!

Adore this show; Boone is fun, smart and -- wait for it -- sexy. I missed most of the tv of the '70's and '80's, and finally -- for the first time -- just saw "Billy Jack." Go watch it again, and ask yourself if Tom Laughlin isn't doing a pretty fine imitation of the man in the black hat. Note: Paladin had a very modern business card -- a Craig's List description, followed by an electronic wire (e-) mail address. This series is definitely a re-watcher, over and over again.

Paladin was a diplomat. Most admirers appreciated the dichotomy of his lavish lifestyle, yet he could eat at a campfire or take the dust when called upon. Paladin was portrayed as the kind of man who was educated to speak with any social elite, yet diverse in character to be streetwise in his pursuits. He toted a special handcrafted pistol and derringer, yet used no-nonsense dialogue as his chief negotiating weaponry. This concept was and is truly an art form admired by those today who appreciate characters who dare to walk the edge of conflict and resolution. Hats off to Richard Boone who played this part as if he and Paladin were "one and the same".

I am very pleased with my purchase of HGWT Vol 1-4. his type of quality, integrity, honor, and virtue is unheard of in today's reality TV world where betrayal, superficial friendships, and family dysfunction are all too commonplace. In one half of an hour, Richard Boone could do more than an entire season of reality TV! I liked the seller and I have had no problems with the product. Unlike when I purchased the fifth season vol 1, the second disc does not play. May have something to do with "discs made in Mexico," but other discs made the same work. Don't know but do know that Paladin Rules!!
