Sax Gordon's CD, Have Sax, Will Travel, is an outstanding accomplishment! This man has paid his dues and, when it comes to honkin' and squellin' in the tradition, Sax Gordon walks to the front of the bar and sends it to the rafters! The title cut, D. D. Rider, Hubcap Pete, and Hallelujah are not for the timid-these are dancing tunes! His style is a hodgepodge of Curtis "King Curtis" Owsley, Sil "Slow Walk" Austin, and Big Jay "The Deacon" McNeeley, along with Iqe Quebec, Gene Ammons, Colman Hawkins, etc. There are a lot of "honkin'" saxophone disks being released. Take it from this ol timer tenorman, Sax Gordon is the king! Don't ponder-buy it! You will not be sorry!
