I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR ONE SONG (DANCING IN THE MOONLIGHT) AND FOUND THIS CD. IT'S VERY GOOD AND ALOT OF THE SONG REALLY TAKE ME BACK TO MY HIGH SCHOOL TIMES. VERY GOOD VARIETY. I WAS SO GLAD I FOUND IT. THE QUALITY IS VERY GOOD. I'D HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CD. THANKS FOR HAVING IT.

Cheesy, but fun, July 26, 2004
This review is from: Have A Nice Night: Romantic Hits Of The 70s (Audio CD)
A compilation of night-themed songs from the 70's. Some of the songs are a stretch, both as to theme (Ian Hunter's "Ships", of course, doesn't use "night" in its title, but does in its refrain) and as to hit status (I'd never heard Kiki Dee's "Night Hours" before purchasing this disk, and hadn't missed much). But the musical night does end with "The Morning After". Most of the songs are winners. Well, maybe not winners, but they do bring back bittersweet memories of listening to the radio. In some ways, a soundtrack of my youth. I always have a guilty smile when inserting this disk into my player.

Soundtrack to a one night stand, July 29, 2003
This review is from: Have A Nice Night: Romantic Hits Of The 70s (Audio CD)
This CD is creatively made up of songs to play as a prelude to 70's, pre-AIDS, casual sex. (Track 2, Eddie Rabbit's I Love A Rainy Night, is perhaps a little too innocent for this album.) Songs I really like such as "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight" and "Midnight at the Oasis" are mixed in with other seduction songs like "Let Me Love You Tonight" and "Lead Me On." All this irresponsibility comes crashing to a halt with "The Morning After" by Maureen McGovern. Way to ruin the mood, Maureen. Perhaps, Rhino Records is re-creating history by telling the 70's groovers they're going to have to wake up and face the reality of the 80's. I didn't recognize a lot of the songs (I was a little kid in the 70's), but besides the aforementioned tracks, I also was familiar with "Dancing In The Moonlight" by King Harvest. All in all, a decent collection.
