Pity the boy narrating this book! He’s just trying to enjoy a day out, but every time his back is turned, the Sneep and its mischievous friends sneak up and spoil his fun. From one hairraising surprise to the next, the boy explains his monster troubles to us. And when he finds out that we aren’t harried by Grullocks and Floons and their ilk, he has a big favor to ask. This hilarious story, illustrated with whimsical and witty style, features five naughty creatures and one adorable hero.
“Perfectly paced and quietly dramatic, this fanciful tale of monsters run amok can be used with groups as well as for one-on-one sharing.” —School Library Journal
“A good choice for story hours.” —Booklist
“Joel Stewart's world is charmingly off-kilter and gently strange. I had never seen anyone like his Addis Berner Bear before, and I had certainly never seen a Sneep. I’m grateful Joel brought them to life, and you will be too.” —Brian Selznick, winner of the Caldecott Medal for THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET

This is a great book that is perfect for reading aloud. The book is constructed around a series of questions involving some pretty nonsensical monsters. It's definitely reminiscent of Dr. Seuss and once the kids get the hang of the rhythm they are eager to join in answering the questions. Each time I read this one, I am guaranteed at least one or two children will get the giggles. What better recommendation can you get than that? My only gripe is I wish the illustrations would have been a bit more vibrant for group reading, but then again, it really doesn't seem to matter!

My four year old son loves this book. He generally only likes to read a book two or three times but requests this one on a regular basis. It's very funny and well paced. Highly recommended.

Just loved the book - it really made my little girl smile and was really useful in getting her used to rhymes. A lovely imaginative way of storytelling- I would strongly recommend getting it as we love it.
