Along with "The Sound of Christmas" by the Ramsey Lewis Trio, this album is a must during holiday preparations and for winding down after the presents have been opened. I'm thrilled that it has been remastered and reissued on CD--the LP is getting a little scratchy.

is what this CD evokes for me...this was THE CHRISTMAS ALBUM growing up in my house and I'm just TOO "JAZZED" AND DELIGHTED that it's on CD now...this was my introduction to who Kenny Burrell is and the first JAZZ album I liked growing up. Favorites are: Little Drummer Boy, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, My Favorite Things and Silent Night...my parents played the first side the most because they loved the Little Drummer Boy...I discovered the second side when I taped their album to listen to now that I'm an adult...so excuse me while I purchase two copies of this CD (one for me, one for my folks) and reflect on some wonderful Christmas memories and create some new ones with the CD...a classic!

This is one of THE great Holiday albums! I bought this as an LP many years ago. The CD is welcome, but long over due. Kenny Burrell, as always, turns in a great performance on this album. If you ever have a chance to see Kenney live - do it!

Grab this one while you can. It's not just a great Christmas record, but one you'll want to hear all through the year. Some of Kenny Burrell's most enjoyable playing.

I have been waiting for years for this album to be remastered on CD. I grew up listening to this album every Christmas season and it brings back many fond memories. It is definitely a must have for lovers of jazz guitar. This is Burrell at his best!!

Hard to add to the good reviews here, so all I can say is I've had this on vinyl for years and have always looked forward to playing it when the season arrives. Kenny is a master on the guitar and his take on these classic selections on this disc are superb. Stands the test of time, buy it, you will have many years of enjoyment.

This is the best Christmas CD ever issued. I don't have a lot of specifics to point out, it's really best if you just skip this review and purchase this CD.

The definitive version of "The Little Drummer Boy", a ragingly cool "My Favorite Things", a soulful and sincere "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"...

I could find shwanky adjectives for each of these tracks, but it's best to let them speak for themselves.

I picked this by mistake and I'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised to hear guitar music played with warmth. I haven't heard such music since Wes Montgomery. The "Little Drummer Boy" is one of the tunes you close your eyes and hum along and by the time you get to "Merry Christmas Baby", you are ready to get dressed and party all night long.

With cognac in hand you will wish everyone a very Soulful Christmas!

I have always been a big Wes Montgomery fan and when I first heard this album, it reminded me of Wes. Christmas music with a smooth guitar interpretation. It works!

If you like jazz/blues guitar Kenny Burrel is at his best on this album, and Kenny at his best, is the best you can get.
It's one of the rare Christmas albums that you'll want to listen to all year long. Get it while you can.
