5.0 out of 5 stars Down-home Christmas Fun!
This is the most FUN Christmas music we have heard! The Tractors really know how to make a rockin' country Christmas! This is the favorite Christmas music in our family - played every year for all ages 3-93!!! If you like Country Music, you will love this!!!!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun Holiday Tunes, But....
Alright, these guys are great musicians & do know how to rock, but lead singer Steve Ripley's voice doesn't do it for me; he sounds like his throat is torn up or something & he doesn't exactly hit all the notes right. I still say he gave it his all, though; and it is alot of fun to play this. I'd have to give The Tractors a B-.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun! Best original Xmas album we've heard in awhile, October 23, 2003

This review is from: Have Yourself a Tractors Christmas (Audio CD)
My wife and I hadn't heard of The Tractors when we came across this album, but some of the song titles looked promising so we took a chance. I'm pleased to report that the band came through with flying colors.

Some of these tracks suggest a comedy/novelty treatment a la Dr. Demento, but don't be fooled... the sound is really rockin' country-and-western, complete with honky-tonk piano and hard-driving drums. Plenty of good stuff here, and almost all of it original, a real achievement among the usual Christmas reissues and revivals. The blue ribbon goes to "Santa Claus Is Comin' (in a Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train)," an infectious tune that we think you'll play again and again. The close runner-up is The Tractors' remake of Buck Owens's "Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy," a newer take on "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus." Grab this one for these two cuts alone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have!, November 25, 2002
This is one rockin' CD! This disc has a little bit of something for everything, from the wonderful piano instrumental White Christmas, to the all-out (& very reminiscent of Don't Ever Take My Picture Down) Swingin' Home For Christmas, to the group's own parody in Santa Claus Is Comin', to a piece of Bethlehem peace in The Shelter. What's best is the non-traditional-ness of this album. Once you put it in your CD player, you won't want the holiday season to end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boogie on, Santa!, September 22, 2004
One December day when I was a kid, I sat in my bedroom armed with a stack of blank cassette tapes, ready to record as many Christmas songs as I could cram onto the tapes, when the DJ announced that the station had received a CD in the mail, mysteriously marked only with the words "the Tractors are coming." Recognizing that the unknown band's CD was good enough to play during that Christmas session, the DJ introduced the song "Santa Claus Boogie." I've long since stopped listening to country music, but I continued to play that tape of "Santa Claus Boogie" over and over for more than a decade of Christmases until the tape snapped. What a great song to introduce that once unknown band!

5.0 out of 5 stars com"YULE"ation Cleric : Comin` To Jingle All Bells, September 18, 2001

This disc`s liner art may be a plain paper package, but the contents within abound with Americana Christmas crafting of some good ol` boys of this here USA. Let`s inventory the Orignality gems found within this YULEtide Treasure Chest by genre..mmm..rockabillity; sway ballad; rock`n western shake; country slide; boogie woogie; cajan jam; texmex swing; bar room blues; and indie strummer. Now figure in the band`s tweaked tagging of seasonal standards with stylings of jive, retro piano, and some hot country all completing a true "ideal" package I wish more artists would aspire toward. So for those in the Know and\or anyone with apprehension just take that purchase plunge for variety is the spice of life and this disc insures that enjoyment.~~Merrily Mix~~ 1#1\2 , 2$ , 3% , 4#1\2 , 5$ , 6# , 7% , 8$ , 9#1\2 , 10#1\2 , 11% ,and 12% ~ no bahhumbugs here ~~Post Script: Shout Out to all YULEtide Treasure Seekers you may have to dig deep for this one, but it`s worth the effort for such a Christmas Classic.***buyit*saveit*shareit*giveit* donateit to the local library***

One of my favorite Christmas CD's.... they go from one song that sounds like jazz to one that is blues to one that is country... I love them and highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars SANTA LOOKS A LOT LIKE RIPLEY!!, November 6, 2002
By
Robert ZIlli (highland, mi United States) - See all my reviews
Tractors go Christmas in this, their first holiday release. "Santa Looks A Lot Like Daddy", "Jingle My Bells" and
the remake of Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train as "Santa Claus Is Comin" ar worth the price of this CD alone.

The Tractors are America's band-truly unique yet very much a part of what we all are. Shuffle on , Santa, shuffle on...

5.0 out of 5 stars Have Yourself a Tractors Christmas, January 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This one is excellent! No two songs sound the same and the song Santa Claus Is Coming' (in a Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train) is worth the whole CD, though all the songs are great. It's worth getting.
