This collection of poems saved my sanity when I was pregnant by showing me that the emotional roller coaster I was on was perfectly normal. Ms. Schutz eloquently expresses the sadness, fears, and doubts and joyfully expresses the beauty, awe, and love women feel when they are pregnant. I cried my way through every page and felt 100 percent better after reading it.I buy it for all of my pregnant friends when they are in their fourth or fifth month, because at that point they have experienced many of the emotions portrayed in the poems. The poems are thoughtfully placed in order from the prenatal months through the birth of the baby, which makes it easy to read and relate to. This collection truly expresses the "beautiful miracle of love and life." |
