A Journey in Finding Love, June 26, 2006
This review is from: Having Her Boss's Baby (Silhouette Special Edition) (Mass Market Paperback)
HAVING HER BOSS'S BABY does not describe this book at all!
Noelle Stevenson works in Dev Hunter's office and dated his younger brother Jimmy. At Dev's instance Jimmy joined the Army in hopes he would learn some responsibility. He was killed and a few months later Noelle suspects she's pregnant. So her family won't suspect, she takes a test early in the morning in the corporate bathroom and it's confirmed! Dev bumps into her; the test falls to the floor and he learns the news. He blames himself for his brother's death as it was he who insisted Jimmy join the military. For Dev, marrying Noelle is the only solution. He proposes marriage and to help with the baby for two years. After that he'll give her a generous settlement. So off to Vegas for a quick wedding and then home to tell Noelle's family the news.
This couple settles quite well into married life. The truth of how Dev and Jimmy were raised is revealed to Noelle. She learns that Jimmy was spoiled, he was always in trouble, and never took responsibility. It is also revealed when the boys were younger, their mom passed away and their father left, leaving their grandfather to raise them. Dev inherits the responsibility of the business and raising his brother when their grandfather passes. Of course, Dev shoulders the blame and for him love will never enter the picture. Did I say never? Little does Dev realize he's slowly falling under Noelle's spell. Noelle realizes she is deeply in love with Dev. She "hadn't given him her heart lightly".
This couple's journey is a painful one. There is laughter in this book, lots of it, a real sense of family and family dynamics but also a lot of pain. Dev is forced to explore his feelings and in the end confront them. Right before your eyes, Noelle grows from a young girl to a woman, a warm woman giving her heart to her new husband. I cried for Dev and all he had been through but the ending is bittersweet.
This is the first book in Susan Mallery's Positively Pregnant series and is an excellent start and very entertaining as well.

I couldn't put this down!, October 12, 2009
I think this is one of my favorite Susan Mallery stories ever! This was such sweet story about real love. The age difference between these two characters didn't bother me at all. Dev's motives were pure. He did not set out to seduce Noelle. He sincerely was trying to do
the right thing and right a wrong that really wasn't his- and these characters simply fell in love. Noelle was the oldest in her family and very mature for her age. Ther was no "Ewe" factor for me. My only complaint with this story would be the title. I don't think it fits the story at all.

Made the Grade: Positively Pregnant Series, Book 1, January 2, 2012

3 out of 5 stars! I liked that this book was a mixture of Christian and Romantic book! It wasn't more of it one way or another but a very good mixture of both! The main characters are great and I love Noelle's friends in her knitting group! So .. if your looking for a quick romance read then this is one book you should check out!!
