Recent house fire wiped out our DVD collection, but thanks to Amazon, getting it started again.
Love the original Hawaii 5-0 set that we recently received. Order came quick, and in excellent condition. Checked other places for price - Amazon had the best deal, by far. Hope to order more again soon. Thanks!!

I am glad to reply regarding my satisfaction with my recent purchase from Amazon.
I just received 9 seasons of Hawaii Five-0, the main character played by Jack Lord is very dynamic and powerful actor and he makes the series. I watched some of the new series Five-0 that was released here a few weeks ago but it is badly cast and does not have the same impact and appeal to me and was disappointing. The original is the best. Again I must say I am always impressed with the service I receive from Amazon. My order B003KSO3Q6 Hawaii Five-O Seasons 1-9 was dispatch within a short time of me sending it and I had it in about two weeks. Amazon sure beats the service and price available in my country. I have no hesitation in recommending their products and services to all. A movie the FBI Story I ordered a few years ago from a major department store here took six months and I still didn't get it. Amazon got it for me in about two weeks. Great work Amazon, keep it up. http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=tag_rvc_rv_ihlp_wt?ie=UTF8&nodeId=16238571

I took the chance and bought this set and have been very pleased with it. It does stand the test of time, which I had been concerned about. I am only up to series five, but can say so far, that each episode is built on a different idea from previous episodes, and I haven't found them to be following a formula which can make episodes seem like previous ones. Thus I think very good value for money. Series One Extras contained cast interviews, which were interesting. The only negative with this set, for me, is that it is as bulky as the photo suggests. Instead of receiving a boxed set, you will receive 9 individual season sets, so much bulkier that if the discs were all enclosed in one big box. Nevertheless, good viewing and I think, good value for money.

Great Christmas 2010, "post-Danno", Hawai'i Five-0 Nine-Pack! Pick Up On It!,

I doubt the last three seasons (10,11,12)
will ever be 'packed' together, and the 1st nine seasons beat the last three in spades! Rating the seasons: 1) Seven 2) Three 3) Four 4) One 5) Six 6) Eight 7) Two 8) Five 9) Nine (10) Ten, (11) Eleven, (12) Twelve Breakdown by Five-0 Cast: Seasons 1-4 (minus thee episodes):McGarrett, Dano (in Pilot, replaced by Danno, James MacArthur seasons 1-11), Kono, Chin Ho. Seasons 5-7 (half way through the 7th), Ben. Seasons 5-12 add Duke. Season 7, add Frank (Doug Mossman). Seasons 6-12, selected episodes, add Nick (sometimes in plain clothes, sometimes as HPD Sgt. He is in no episodes in season 11 though ...) Sandi Welles, 1 episode in season 8, three in season 9. Season 11, which is still three stars out of four, has Duke, Danno and McGarrett only, though Duke misses out on a pretty good episode called, "The Bark and the Bite". Season 12, which is really 'McGarrett', has McG. (all 20 episodes in sydication), Duke (13 episodes), Jim later 'Kimo'] Carew (18 episodes), Truck (10 episodes, but gets mentioned in four others), Lori Wilson (who disappears after 9 episodes), husband, the hawai'ian looking Kevin (killed after half an episodes!) and Nick reappears, once in plain clothes as a Lt.(!), and another time back in his HPD squad car, training a rookie woman cop ("Saints preserve us from 'probies' spouting re- gulations...") During the Hawai'i Five-0 show, Danno gets shot once, McGarrett four times, Duke gets film developing chemicals throw in his face once and launched out of a burning car another time, and get greeted heartily by McGarrett both times, like a long lost brother. Chin Ho gets framed once, so does Duke and in the 12th season so does Carew. You'd think McGarrett would have figured out all three of these were frame-jobs sometime before the end of the episodes once! Truck gets shot three times in the 12th season, twice in the same arm(!), in only 10 episodes(!), and even Nick gets badly wounded (shot also) in season 12! Kono gets kidnapped in season three, but Lori, Frank and Ben eacape the show with no frames, Kidnappings or shootings at all! Chin Ho's second time getting shot (season 10 ender) ends his Five-0 career. The show never fully recovers in my opinion, after that. Carew is used mostly as a strong shoulder to bust down doors in season 12 and is sometimes very dense! Once he asks McG. what 'Deja-Vu' means! McG. vaguely then launches into one of his 12th season esoteric silioques (...Zzzzz....). Only Duke comes off well in the 12th season and Lori is no Sandi Welles! Poor Kevin...we barely get to know him, but Frank...Doug Mossman is a 7th season gem. I love that guy, and Duke. Both, along with Nick are better than Kono (who's character never gets fully developed) and the overacheiving Ben, just don't get used properly. Nick and Ben together are good though. Danno and Duke and Chin Ho are my favs...I know, Duke (Herman Wedemeyer and I both played Pro Football once, so that's the somewhat of attraction to his character. Both of us were five-ft.-ten, 180+ lbs.,too.) Ah, Five-0 the memories. The new show really is bad though. So bad (besides the lovely Grace Park, who I'd like to tap, if'n I wasn't happily married to the runner-up Miss Honolulu of '94) that I sometimes break out my 12th season episodes, because they are better...Oy! Merry Holidays, 2010 everybody. |
