Product Description

Description This production is featured at many world class aquariums like Monterey Bay Aquarium, Birch Aquarium at Scripps La Jolla, Long Beach Aquarium, Maui Ocean Center and the Waikiki Aquarium. The message is one of conservation and appreciation of Hawaii9s magnificent underwater world. The narration was written by Chris Trusty, former assistant editor of Skin Diver Magazine. The Waikiki Aquarium approved the technical aspects of the script and assisted in the identification of the animals. At the conclusion of the video, the viewer is presented with over 60 animals and fish that are identified by their common names.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful underwater panorama, June 29, 1999
This review is from: Hawaii Underwater [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Visually engaging and delightfully colorful, the Trustys take you on a personal guided tour of their Pacific playground. I was immediately enthralled by the vivid colors Lew was able to capture through his lense. What is clearly evident in this video is the love the Trustys have for their Hawaiian home. They share the beauty and wonder of Hawaii's underwater wildlife. As a teacher with 20+ years experience, I found this an extremely useful educational tool as well. It shows the great diversity of aquatic life. With dancing rays, shy Hawaiian monk seals and graceful dolfins, Hawaii Underwater is a great video for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best underwater video on the market!, July 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hawaii Underwater [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Lew did an outstanding job of capturing our Hawaiian underwater population. While explaining how fragile the environment is and showing ways to help save it, he also heightens the excitment that surrounds it. The naming of the species at the end is some of the most educational footage available to a scuba diver today. As a PADI Certified Scuba Instructor I'm happy to have these kinds of materials to supplement my training. Great job Lew - it's always great diving with you.

2.0 out of 5 stars a pretty 25 minute DVD, January 9, 2004
This review is from: Hawaii Underwater (DVD)
This DVD is pretty. But, as it does not disclose on the cover, it is only 25 minutes long, er, short! It's just too short. It does identify about a dozen sea creatures, and it does take you to a few dive spots. That's it. And as to the non-English support, it has no subtitles (the fish ID's were subtitled only) -- only dubbing.

Watch it once and you'll never watch it again. It was a waste of money for me.
