Hawaiian Alphabet is a small yet delightful hardcover children's picturebook featuring full color illustrations of various Hawaiian words. Each word is accompanied by a picture that leaves no room for doubt as to what the word is, such as "wawae" for "foot." Not all letters of the English alphabet are represented; Hawaiian Alphabet is as much a Hawaiian vocabulary builder as it is an English alphabet tool. A small, simple but delightful little book to share the months and seasons, especially with very young children

As I just wrote in my review to Instant Immersion Hawaiian Express, together with the most helpful Hawaiian: A Language Map (Language Maps), it is essential to know the Hawaiian Alphabet.
When the missionaries arrived in the early 1800's, Hawaiian was an exclusively spoken language, without any written stories. These - to all the Hawaiians until now - most essential stories were trasmitted from an elder to the young, from a chief to his sucessor, from mother or father to the child, and so on. So the missionaries made up a proper alphabet for the Hawaiians. Which is very easy to learn, because it is very much shorter than ours. So, if You want to learn Hawaiian, something like this booklet - made for children, but useful the same to grown-ups - becomes very helpful. Try and learn - I like it, it's soo wonderful with all these colors so bright... Aloha and mahalo Miki

We have yet to receive this item and it has been a very long time since i have ordered. Very dissatisfied and will think twice about buying from this seller again:( Would REALLY enjoy having this book.
