Beautifully illustrated, historical and cultural references make this book a delight. clear instructions for making different pieces, and their cultural context lift this above "craft book" status. A lovely read if you as missing the islands or planning a project. Put on some tropical music, sit down with the book and some shells, and you are half-way to Maui. Very enjoyable!
