Ron Carter, Kenny Burrell, and Andrew Cyrille are the expert rhythm section that accompany the Genius on this 1960 set of slow cookers. Dig how Hawk reinvents each melody within the context of a solo. This is Tenor sax for the twilight hours. Carter is a true master.

One of the finest jazz recordings ever ! I don't go a two week period with out playing this CD. Hawkins keeps it mellow and cool from start to finish. Truely one of my favorite recordings.
