Scope has clear glass and is easy to adjust.

It does everything that my other best scopes do in spades and I DO believe that the optics are superior.

I own a slew of great air rifles and am always on the lookout for better scopes for them. I own quite a few very good and reliable scopes preferred by experienced air rifle users but have never tried out a Hawke scope until now. Based upon great reviews of the Hawke brand by my brothers on a great Air Gun Forum, I broke down and tried for this one. I am not disappointed. It is well designed, sturdy and well built and the sharpness and clarity of the optics are second to none. Mounted it in minutes of receiving it on my most powerful magnum rifle and had a very fast zero time in getting it operational. I am HIGHLY impressed with this scope. It does everything that my other best scopes do in spades and I DO believe that the optics are superior. Only time and use will tell if it resists damage from the rifle I have it mounted on but so far, it performs superbly and the price is very reasonable. I believe I have a real winner in this scope. Try it! I highly recommend it!

Update 4/4/2014
I have been so pleased with my original purchase that I now have 2 of these and they are both on my best and most accurate and reliable air rifles (both Ruger Air Hawks from Amazon). These scopes are extremely reliable and clarity is absolutely superb. This is my new "gotta have" if I ever need another scope!

This is my second hawke scope. I have a higher end model as well. I put this on a marauder pistol (carbine). For the price it is incredibly clear, let's in plenty of light, and holds its zero. The point of impact does not change when changing power levels. I have not determined if the moa adjustments are accurate as in dialing in windage or elevation and returning to zero but I am guessing it will perform. They have a lifetime warranty which is impressive for a scope in this price range.

This is my first Hawke scope and I'm very happy with it. The 40mm objective gathers light nicely and the optics are as sharp as one could expect in this price range. I have it mounted on a Remington Vantage Nitro Piston in .177 and the combo works well. One thing to be aware of is the extra clearance the 40mm objective requires (over the typical 32mm). I have Tech Force rings and the objective only has a couple of mm clearance from the receiver... close enough the cover doesn't fully clear on the front. Just be aware of this and choose your rings with the clearance in mind. I would not hesitate to recommend this scope to someone. On the other hand, if money is tight, for about $20 less, you can get a Tech Force 3-9x32 AO with duplex reticle. I would be hard pressed to say the Hawke is $20 better, but I have no regrets in spending that $20. Both scopes are airgun rated (do not mount a non-airgun rated scope on a spring or gas-spring/ram airgun - the forward/reverse recoil will destroy the scope).

Hope this helps!
Steve

I am using this on a break barrel air rifle, and I have a UTG 3-12x44 to compare it with. When set to the same magnifications, this Hawke has a greater field of view, which is nice.

The optics are great for this price range, though I don't have any really high end optics to compare it with.

It is designed to be able to withstand the dual recoil of air rifles, which is good, but I haven't put enough shots through the rifle with this on to really be able to tell the long term stability (only about 700-800 shots so far, and it is only a 17 FPE rifle, not a magnum air rifle).

Overall, I am very pleased with it, and it works well with a one piece mount for the air rifles to help stabilize it and prevent it from experiencing torsional shock during the shot cycle.

I am considering buying another one for another air rifle I have, and have no qualms recommending this scope to others.

For the money, this is the best airgun scope I have found. I have it mounted on a Benjamin Discovery, and it has worked flawlessly so far. It has pretty good optics, and accurate, repeatable, adjustments. The adjustable objective ring and power adjust ring turn smoothly, with just the right amount of force. Overall a nice package for what it costs.

I wanted to like this scope, in terms of clarity, WOW, but the combination of eye relief and parallax keeps the eye box very small. I could not get it mounted with good ergonomics on my platform and get my face in the right spot. Might work better on another gun.

It's a really high value scope with good optical clarity, nice objective lens focusing down to well under 10 yards, nice low price too.

I shoot high end air rifles as well as the 22 I tried to mount this on. This scope would be great for a conventionally stocked air rifle, but those guns already are scoped.

Maybe I should have just tried the Varmint version with the side focus and larger eye relief.

Nice looking scope and I was real happy with it until it died after about 25 days and 400 shots through a Benjamin Trail XL1100. It began to group all over the place and no it wasn't anything wrong with the mount, rifle or pellets, two other good scopes confirmed that. Hey, it happens, some scopes go bad early in life. I really like the 4-16x40 Center Point better though. They're rugged, the cross hairs are better(narrower) and more power for less money, mounts included. But they can go bad too on a magnum air rifle. I was hoping the Hawke would have lasted longer from all the good reviews I read. Maybe I'll try another someday.
