Getting my ZWave system to recognize the door sensor was a little difficult. My first unit I sent back because it did not add to my system. The second unit displayed the same symptoms but in desperation, I repetitively pressed the bind button and... guess what? It did!
I had to custom fit the unit into my existing door molding but NOW.... It works and looks ok. Not as easy as first thought, but what is? I intend to buy more now knowing the secrets I passed on to you.

1. Very easy to integrate this device with MiCasaVerde Vera 2 controller.
2. Nice design and sturdy as well. 3. Very sensitive. 4. I bought 10 of them and installed all over the house.

I've gotten two of these now and both go through three AAA batteries in a matter of weeks. Hooks up to the network fine.

Initially, I was able to hook this up to my MiCasaVerde Vera2 without too much trouble. But then I placed my base station back in the house, and this device was on my garage door. It didn't reach through the walls. However, I then put another Z-wave device (GE switch) in my garage, and this seemed to improve the signal. Since then, this thing has worked beautifully. No other issues--been quite happy with it.

I bought this item to add it to my existing homeremote system (I already have a door sensor, which came with the starter kit and some appliances modules working ok). I followed ALL the instructions and tried over 30 times to add it to my hawking homeremote pro system with no luck.
Also contacted hawking support and got this response: "did you check the batteried?". Well, does the hawking support team even know their products? it comes with new batteries!! Just to make sure, bought new ones and tried it with energizer, still... NO LUCK. I guess this is just another failure of hawing (I tried several products by hawking and had to send back 2 of 3). |
