Hawkins Contura pressure cooker body is made of hard anodized and the lid is made of stainless steel, with the capacity of 3.5 liters or 3.8 quarts. Hawkins Contura pressure cooker's body and lid are hard-anodised to over 50 microns; this surface will not tarnish, pit, corrode, or scratch. Stay cool handles. For all cooktops: gas, electric, ceramic, halogen (but not induction).

Works without a hitch. The handles are not of good quality and tend to break. Does not come with inside containers but most people don't use them anyway.

It worked great after 2 to 3 weeks. Then one day, it exploded and my whole kitchen was drenched. I used it again hoping that maybe it was my fault but it did the same second time. Not too happy considering it's a well named company pressure cooker.

I live at 7,000 feet.

Like all pressure cookers, the Hawkins had a little learning curve. It's quirky compared to the more expensive cookers. The size is just right for 2 or 3 people. I've bought several as gifts for friends. They all rave at the amazing simplicity and ease.

At this price, just buy it! I use mine several times a week. It's my "go to" pressure cooker.

My only negatives are:
1) There's only 1 pressure setting
2) For some things scooping out the food can take a little more effort

Nice little apparatus for the buck!
