Detailed info about these was sparse online. The unit does come with an insert, not mentioned anywhere. Though recommended for gas stoves, it seems fine on my glass-top electric. Looks fine, too! 99-cent-a-pound beef ribs succulent in less than one hour. I will be ordering the 5-liter Contura ... only wish I could find a bigger one to match. The Hawkins website lists a 6.5-liter model, but I can't find one for sale anywhere online. This 3-liter is a bit smaller than expected, but I am glad I purchased it.

This is the ideal cooker and I've had a few different ones. When you cook chuck steak and some potatoes and onion you can't help but love it. Only downside and minor at that is the design makes for difficult pouring from the cooker, you lift contents out.

If you cook moong dal, you'll want at least the 3.5L size.

I really like this little pressure cooker. I wanted a smaller pressure cooker than American stores generally carry, as it's just the two of us; but I also wanted to be able to cook enough to have a manageable amount of planned leftovers, so I went with the larger of two sizes which Hawkins recommends for 2 people. This fits the bill quite nicely. The anodised aluminium cleans very easily, and looks sharp; the lid lock mechanism is ingenious, and easy to master; and this size is much easier to store than my old pressure cooker was. I love that parts are cheap, and most problems can be fixed yourself. The longer I have it, the more I use it and appreciate it.

I looked all over for a small pressure cooker but couldn't find any in stores and larger ones are expensive. This Hawkins pressure cooker is a perfect size for one or two people, is easy to clean and works great. I was afraid to use it at first but is very safe. The only negative thing is it had an Indian cookbook which has unusual ingredients. I've made small pork and beef roasts and rice and they came out delicious! Thanks Amazon for such fast delivery! The size is just perfect for me and my husband. As an urban apartment dweller storage space is at a premium. I'm delighted to find a pressure cooker that fills my needs and doesn't take up too much space. I mostly use it for cooking beans.

Was a little fearful at first-but-no problem-this is easy to use. I am having the best time preparing meals for myself that I have stayed away from because of time involvement for one person.today made a pork roast with onions and carrots,garlic granules-in 45 min had a almost 2 lb delicious best ever tasting roast done with the liquid extremely tasty for gravy-followed with making potatoes for mash- in 10 min-in less than 2 hours i was sitting down to incredibly full of taste meal. have made long cooking rice,in a short time with rice nice and fluffy,chicken, veggies,I am going to attempt a soup soon. It cleans up easily. works great on smooth surface stove.easy to use.cannot say enough good things about it. see from reviews they last a long time too.It has saved time in making my own wet food for my dogs, like knowing the nutrients are still intact.cooking is fun again.

It is a great product. Really helpful for cooking and is very useful in the kitchen. The quality of material is great with steel body.

This pressure cooker is a small power house! Reduces the cooking time considerably. It builds pressure quickly and cooks quickly. Whistles well, is not very difficult to clean and looks stylish too. I am very happy with my purchase.

I am happy with this pressure cooker. It is not made of aluminum, which is very bad for health especially if you store the food inside the aluminum cooker. However I am giving it why 4 start because it does not create very high pressure and temperature of water boiling is not very high as well so food does not get cooked all that fast. For instance, with my previous pressure cooker I needed just 2 minutes after boiling starts to cook rice, with this one it took about 7-8 minutes for rice to cook. It is still much better than regular pot though.
