Works without a hitch. The handles are not of good quality and tend to break. Does not come with inside containers but most people don't use them anyway.

It worked great after 2 to 3 weeks. Then one day, it exploded and my whole kitchen was drenched. I used it again hoping that maybe it was my fault but it did the same second time. Not too happy considering it's a well named company pressure cooker.

I live at 7,000 feet.
Like all pressure cookers, the Hawkins had a little learning curve. It's quirky compared to the more expensive cookers. The size is just right for 2 or 3 people. I've bought several as gifts for friends. They all rave at the amazing simplicity and ease. At this price, just buy it! I use mine several times a week. It's my "go to" pressure cooker. My only negatives are: 1) There's only 1 pressure setting 2) For some things scooping out the food can take a little more effort Nice little apparatus for the buck!

This is my 3rd Pressure cooker. I have a Hawkins 1.5 L little aluminum thang that is great for a quick cook of veggies or smaller amounts of food, and I have an Ultrex that is built like a large Chicken Fryer pan..flat, not saucepan shaped as is usual.
This was my middle choice, not large, not small. The perfect size for a 2-person meal. The mechanics are very simple, an oval opening that allows the lid to lock on from the inside of the pan, and an automatic steam release that doesn't use weights. It is complete with the lid, base and rubber ring. No weights to lose. The interior is non-stick. Love it. The price is decent, the build is excellent, the design is well done and it works great. There's a million recipes on the web for you, and I predict you'll be using this little baby often.

I loved this product. I had 3 litres Futura. It lasted like two weeks and then started leaking. I have futura 5 lt that i have been using since 6 years and it works fabulous even now. So i got futura but it didn't lasted. I am using Contura since two weeks now. Its great for my Indian cooking. I am vegeterian so can't tell how it do with meat, but for my lentils, its just perfect:-) Its extremely light wieght and so easy to wash.
