5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ FOR A PERSON OF ANY AGE
The frist time I read this book was 5 years ago and I loved it, it drew me in in an instant. It touched my heart and soul. The characters come to life and are with you always. I laughed, I cried, I couldnt wait to turn the next page. The charachters are so real you actually feel as though you right there in the story sharing in there triumpts and struggles. I read this...

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fly
Amelia Atwater-Rhodes at her best is mediocre, and "Hawksong" is probably her best book thus far. Having temporarily abandoned her melodramatic vampires, Atwater-Rhodes draws on the most popular works of Shakespeare and Laurell K. Hamilton. The result flies as well as a snake.

Danica Shardae is the heir of the avian (bird) shapeshifter throne, which is at war...

I read this book at least once a year because it is one of my favorites and the complete series is in my collection and has a perminet place. READ THIS BOOK YOU WONT REGRETE IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Read it once; read it a thousand times, March 14, 2011

I first read this book when I was twelve. Granted, I did not understand many parts and it was a difficult read, but I fell in love with the characters, plot, and story. This is a wonderful read no matter what your age - even now, midway through college, I find myself picking up my Kindle and rereading Hawksong when I need to lose myself in a book.

Amelia Atwater-Rhodes is a wonderful storyteller. The reader finds themselves immersed in Avian and Serpentine society, unable to put down the book until the very last page. Subtle hints to adult issues can be found throughout, thus making the novel not be boring to adults and yet still appropriate for a younger audience.

I have read this book at least fifty times, and know that I will read it at least fifty more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Youll want to read it over and over . . ., December 31, 2010
i first read this book about year ago at a local library and was instantly hooked. i reread it over and over again until i could return to the library and hen i did i checked out the next book in the series, and more. i was hooked! now a year later after reading just about every one of her books this one remains my farorite along with "demon in my view " and "midnight predator". i feel she has much more to give to this world as an author and cant wait for another book of hers to come out. even though ive read this book many times i still feel tje need to own it. thats why i bought it along with its whole series in a ten dollar pack at barnes and noble before i got my kindle. i say her books have reasonable pricing and are well worth the money. though i think they may be cheaper at barnes and noble . . . enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Even better than I expected!, December 2, 2010
A friend recommended this book to me, and I bought it feeling iffy and unsure of whether or not the purchase was worth it.

Was it? Absolutely. Though some plot points are weak, and some points are left explained, there is a mighty plot twist that I would never have seen coming! Anyone who likes the manga Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen (or, in English, roughly called The Ideal Peace Plan) will love this book.

Charming and sweet, this was a hard one to get off my mind. I'm just starting the second one, Snakecharm--let's hope it only gets better from here!

4.0 out of 5 stars OK, April 10, 2010
I liked this book quite a bit but, looking back on it, (hindsight is 20/20!) it seems a little flat, and some of th characters lack depth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something to behold, February 16, 2010
Hawksong was reccommended (Please excuse my spelling) to me by a friend. At first, it seemed a little boring, but as I read further, it got much better. My favorite character is Zane. :]

5.0 out of 5 stars a joy from start to finish, December 24, 2009
This book was a true joy to read. It's never hard for me to finish a book in a few days, but it is rare I completely forget my surroundings and sacrafice eating and sleeping all together. i know some readers might complain that the book waws nearly too fast paced, but I enjoyed the fact I didn't have to wait half the book for it too draw me in and speed through the pages. This is bound to motivatw rrelunctant readers and even get them hooked on reading. Danica is a good role modle in the book and one has to respect the choices she makes out of the strength of her own character, even if one would choose differently. The contrast betweent the two societies makes the novel quite well rounded and even more interesting. a superb book many are bound to love.
