Product Description

This concert performance was shot live at the London Astoria in December 2005. The line up for the show featured Dave Brock, Richard Chadwick and Alan Davey alongside Jason Stuart. Jez Huggett also makes a guest appearance on some numbers which includes a fine mix of newer material from the album Take Me To Your Leader and older material such as 7 by 7 and Paradox. Other tracks featured on this DVD are The Right Stuff, Sword of the East and Greenback Massacre.

Reason I'm giving this concert DVD a three star rating is because the sound quality is pretty decent - I thought. Funny how I was unable to find many reviews of this particular DVD. I find it strange how the entire fifteen song / 80 minute gig was taped from a SINGLE angle + about (I'm guessing maybe twenty rows back). What's the deal here? Should have had (maybe?) every other song normally filmed. Regardless, it was still good to hear the set list here, some fine tunes - like "The Right Suff", the new (er) "Angela Android", two tracks off their 'Hall Of The Mountain Grill' lp - "Paradox" and "Psychedelic Warlords" as well as "Spirit Of The Age', the (always) *ss-kicking "Assassins Of Allah" and the old B-side rarity "Brainbox Pollution". Just glad to see this DVD selling for the reasonable price that it is.

I have been a Hawkwind fan, an avid fan at that, since seeing them at Stonehenge '83. I love the band.

This is just egregious, though.

One angle: shot at the back near the mixing deck. W-a-y in the back...

Muddy production and mediocre sound quality, at best.

The guys don't even look particularly animated. The dancer is lame.

I would rate "for completists only" but I think they too will be disappointed.

Trust me: stay away. I feel ripped off.

For a decent DVD experience try Hawkwind: Classic Rock Legends."
