It's cute but classy, sturdy, the color is exactly like the photo shows, it's solid pine, except for the particle backing (which no one sees and has nothing to do with the main construction anyway). The drawers are a bit short and the wood is soft (to be expected from pine wood), but neither of those are a problem in my book. Packing and shipping was done with great care. Great buy.

The shipment was delivered on time and in good shape. None of the wood was bruised or chipped and all the parts were present for assembly. That made me pretty happy.
Putting it all together wasn't as simple as I'd hoped. I think they could've made the assembly directions just a bit clearer. I made one small mistake and had to take the bureau completely apart to make the correction. It took me more than 2 1/2 hours to put it all together but I'm very pleased with the product itself once it was assembled. The wood is nice looking and sturdy, although the drawers are somewhat shallower than I expected. They include small wooden dowels that you can use to keep the drawers from sliding all the way out. I opted not to use those; you never know when you need to get behind the drawer and once you install the dowels, it's very tricky getting them out. I was hesitant to order a chest of drawers set on-line because you never know what you're going to get by just looking at a picture of it. I've ordered furniture from another seller on Amazon.com and got cheap cardboard and fiberboard that quickly became damaged and fell apart. You won't need to worry about that with this dresser. I'm very pleased with this seller's furniture. I think it's a good deal for the price as well. I'd definitely recommend it to others.

I was very disappointed when I assembled this dresser. Upon inspecting the wood pieces I found that only the drawer sides, drawer backs, knobs, and drawer spacers are actually solid pine. The rest is MDF. I expected some pieces to be MDF, like the backing, but not the sides, top, decorative piece at the bottom. I am very unhappy that I spent so much money on something that isn't nearly the quality I was expecting. I could have gotten something similar made of the same materials for at least $100 less, if not more.The instructions are decently written, but they severely underestimate the assembly time. The booklet states 45 minutes for assembly but it took me about three hours. Everything has to be screwed in by hand, which isn't a problem, except the pieces you screw into do not have pre-drilled holes. It is difficult to get everything lined up properly, especially the drawer backs, which when fitted snugly are not centered with the holes on the drawer sides. More than once I had a screw crack through the drawer back. The drawer knobs are also difficult to work with. Instead of being flat (or having a nice pre-drilled hole), there was a bit of wood that stuck out directly in the center of each knob. This made it difficult to screw through and two knobs even split in half while I was screwing into them. There are uneven gaps above or below all the drawers and the decorative piece on the bottom of the dresser has big gaps on each side. The only redeeming quality about this dresser is that my three year old daughter adores it.
