5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff
Bought for my GX2 brakes, took a little bit of research to figure out GX is the old MX, but they have the same specs. Remove the wheel and use a metric allen wrench to loosen the bolt holding the cable so the piston is loose and it springs back to it's home position. 2.0 out of 5 stars Hayes MX-2 brake pads
I ordered these in the hope that I could get rid of the shrill squeaking that accompanies every effort to actually use the brake to slow down. I don't know if it is the pads or the design of the brake or the rotor, but these brakes just plain squeak. I went on a hilly ride today with a group of 15 and mine were the only squealers in the bunch.

Bought for my GX2 brakes, took a little bit of research to figure out GX is the old MX, but they have the same specs. Remove the wheel and use a metric allen wrench to loosen the bolt holding the cable so the piston is loose and it springs back to it's home position. Then unscrew the plate opposite the piston side and remove the old pads, clean out the housing of any debris, and slide the new ones in. After you put the brakes pads in, put the wheel back on and tighten the plate until the pad is a little bit off the disc. Then tighten the cable on the piston until the other pad is a little bit off the disc. Spin the wheel and press the brakes. Spin the wheel again and listen for any rubbing. Tighten or loosen either side as necessary. My original Hayes pads lasted a long time, expect the same.

These disc pads work great. I have only been using them for about 1 month so am nut sure on longevity, but so far so good.
