The Hayes Optima 56K V.90 RS-232 Model H08-02892 is an external dial-up modem with voice and fax capabilities for computers equipped with a serial port. The modem is suitable for use with Windows Macintosh and Unix-based operating systems including Linux. The modem supports Asynchronous and Synchronous modes. Synchronous data options include SDLC HDLC BiSync for data transfers with miniframes and host systems. Leased Line Operation is supported to operate on dedicated circuits with no ring and answer tones. Leased Line Operation is fully controllable with RS-232C control signals or AT commands. Advanced security measures and password encryption include password protected access and remote configuration modes. The H08-02892 is 56Kbps ITU V.90 standard with V.42bis compression and 14.4 Kbps support for both Class 1 & 2 fax for highest fax speeds available.
