Chick Opinion,
By K. "bookkitten" (CA United States) - See all my reviews

HAZED is a delicious social satire that has so many hilarious insights about females and their relationships with one another, as well as the world of sororities, gender dynamics, feminism and post-feminism, and social politics. I laughed so hard because it hit the nail on the head about so many of my college experiences and those of my friends. The sorority is Sigma Tau Delta, or "STD" -- ha! In short, the book is viciously funny and I also loved the super-adorable illustrations. All sorority girls ought to receive this book in their little "welcome" bags, and I'm going to give it to my college-age cousins as a present this Christmas.

HAZED is spot on!,
By Chip Mosher (Culver City) - See all my reviews

Mark Sable impresses me every time I read one of his books. I thought I had him pegged for a post modern super hero writer with his work on Grounded and Fearless. Then he goes and proves me wrong with HAZED. What a terrific satire of Sororities. And the art by Robbi Rodriguez just nails it.
I must say having gone to a Greek dominated college in the early P.C. '90s, I totally got this world because I lived it. And not only that, but the well-drawn female characters are a blast. Yes, they are over the top, but hey, this is satire. And man-oh-man is there truth in this story. HAZED had me laughing and cringing at the same time... till my sides hurt! |
