Stunning and poetic, you can't go wrong.,

If you enjoy (older) 10,000 Maniacs and Innocence Mission, you will absolutely love this cd. I first heard it playing in a cafe and bought the cd for a rather large sum (it was a cafe, after all) after only hearing soft snippets of the songs. It was totally worth the money I paid. It is the perfect music for everything from long workday afternoons to lazy Sunday mornings to intense stormy nights. Full of rich melodies, fiddles, acoustic guitars and the most *beautiful* female voice I have heard in a great while, I highly recommend this cd. Go ahead and get it, especially at this price :)

Hidden Treasure,

Sure, none of your friends have heard of Equation, but they're missing out. I have loved this CD from the very first track and I still can't get enough. Equation's sound has been described as British-Celtic folk-pop. Basically, their sound is all their own and thus this ambiguous description suits them well. They're not quite like anything you've ever heard. But watch out; this album is highly addictive. From the intensely singable "Kissing Crime" to the contemplative "Myself" to the superb "Strange Love," the tracks are all incredibly sincere and beautifully performed. I played this album all summer at the large bookstore where I worked, and every time I played it, someone would come up and ask what was playing. I always highly recommended it to those who asked, as I do to you today. Maybe someday Equation will be the household name that they deserve to be, but for now, they remain one of music's most exquisite hidden treasures.

I saw these guys live in Colorado Springs, CO (2/17/2000) and was exillerated by the energy combined with incredible melody that enthused the packed house at Jack Quinn's Irish Pub. Their success is fully deserved.. and long may it continue!
