5.0 out of 5 stars Great crock pot!
I've had good success in using this slow-cooker. The features I like:

*The glass lid makes it easy to see how the food is doing without letting the heat escape.

*The crock itself is a nice black color and is easy to keep in the fridge if you want to prepare ingredients the night before or keep leftovers in the same pot.

*The keep...

I think I used this total of 6 times before the crock cracked. I had my other crock pot for 12 years before it even cracked and that was because my son accidentally dropped it. I think the base is poorly made. I would not buy this product again!

*The keep warm setting is great for serving food, especially at a party

*The outside is a nice looking brushed silver

I've used this pot when I'm away from home and haven't had any problems. I always follow a recipe's directions for the length of time to cook my meals, and I haven't had any problems with burning. I've had it for 5 years now and it is still going strong.

My only complaint is that the rubber ring used to keep the lid on when traveling broke after three uses, which was too bad, because it was a nice feature. However, it's not something I use very often, so I consider this a minor drawback.

Ordered two of these, and shipped to Florida.
One arrived with a broken pot, and Amazon sent a free replacement
as soon as I notified them!

Now both of them are in my possession, and they have been given as a gift to
a Christian ministry in Bogota, Colombia, who used BOTH of them last week to cook
FOUR large chickens for the ministry people.

They worked JUST FINE. No fancy bells and whistles, just low or high settings.

We are WELL pleased with this product. aND ESPECIALLY PLEASE WITH THE QUICK RESPONSE FROM AMAZON!!

I purchased this to replace a fancier and more expensive Rival slow cooker which was completely worthless, overpriced and extremely poorly made.

This Hamilton Beach cooker is a perfect example of "less is more". Not a whole lot of bells and whistles, but unless you need much more than "high, low and keep warm", this is the perfect cooker for you.

Reliable heat, great 7 qt. capacity, attractive brushed (no fingerprints) exterior, and really nice "keep warm" feature is nice for buffet parties without drying out or overcooking the meal.

This is my first slow cooker - i couldn't decide on the size since i live alone and wasnt sure if the 7qt would be too big. It is perfect i like to cook a lot of stuff and freeze food for later. It works great, looks greats and washes easily. I can believe how easy it is to cook with this - would definately recommend this to anyone looking to save time in the kitchen but not sacrafice the quality of home cooked foods.

nothing special, but it is bigger than most pots. Works as advertised with no bells and whistles. We had a fancy digital crock pot and it would keep turning off after four hours, so to slow cook overnight didn't work.

I purchased this to replace a older heavier Slow Cooker I had. Love it! Perfect size and works great. I also purchased a travel case for it which is great.

Have only had this crock pot for a month or so. It has made a pot-roast (outstanding) and a Pork butt also perfect. Only thing was the Pork butt got done early 6 hr instead of 8 but switched to "keep warm" setting and the meat held perfectly until serving. In all fairness the butt was small to start with.. So-far we are very pleased. Want to try chicken and lentil combo next.

After 42 years of cooking I have gone away from the original slow cooker.
I LOVE this slow cooker. It is easy to clean and is well designed! It looks handsome on the counter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product except for the lid. Price is good., April 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hb Chrome 7 Qt. Slow Cooker (Kitchen)
I like the size and the oval shape and find it easy to clean. I like the stainless steel, but it is very thin. I was surprised by the thin, cheap quality of the lid. I'm used to the thick glass lids that fit nice and snug. This is very thin and lightweight and is a bit too small and sits unevenly as well...there are small gaps. Our old, inexpensive slow cooker was definitely made better and I wish I still had it. Unfortunately our daughter dropped the ceramic insert, which was full, and it broke. I looked everywhere for one that had an "auto" setting that would cook on high for 2 hours and automatically switch to low. Not to be found.

After cooking a few meals in it we've decided it's worth keeping. If it had cost more it would have gone back. Keep in mind they just don't make them like they used to unless you're willing to fork out some serious money.
