Book Description

April 1, 2012
In an amazing true story, two lives are inexorably interwoven. Courtney Becker, a 911 dispatcher, took a routine call on November 19th, 2004. The call for help came from a man whose young daughter was in cardiac arrest. Courtney was destined to receive that call, and that little girl became part of his spiritual journey.

He Heard Hannah is an incredibly inspiring story of spiritual perseverance and life changing hope. God's purpose is undeniably seen through the miraculous, life changing events that are told in this book, and it illuminates the biblical truth, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

I just finished reading "He Heard Hannah" by Lynnette Kraft with Courtney Becker. It is very well done--a book you won't be able to put down until you've completed it. Because it is written from a duel perspective of both Court and Lynnette, the reader is able to see how both people (really two entire families) deal with one extremely hard circumstance, and how their lives become intertwined and a great blessing to each other. Ultimately I walked away learning that, just as scripture teaches, the Lord God is sovereign over all, at all times. As people we don't often understand that and see it worked out in our lives, but we have to trust that Romans 8:28 really is true. I loved seeing how the stable, mature faith of the Kraft family encouraged and witnessed to Court, especially when they had no idea it was happening. Court didn't even know it at first. Both writers are clear, tell their accounts in ways that are interesting and concisely appropriate. I am a reader who has trouble reading emotion-filled, psychoanalytical books, or even books about tragedy. This book was not like that at all. It was edifying and appropriate, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in evangelism, Christian family life, dealing with tragedy, or how Romans 8:28 and Philippians 1:6 can be fleshed out here in our current day. Read it, you won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Even for those that don't like to read... March 28, 2012
By Kayren
Format:Paperback
OK, I must confess, "I don't like reading". This book is an exception to the rule. It captivates you so much that you will not want to put it down until your finished.
When reading this book, I cried, I smiled, my heart ached and then leaped and rejoiced. This is not a sad story at all. In fact, it is just the opposite. "He Heard Hannah" is a heart filled tender story. One might even say it is a love story, "A Father's Love".
This book is written with the true story of two people entwined by one special little girl. One chapter you hear Lynnette Kraft's story and the next you hear Courtney Becker's story. It will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to hurry up and get through one chapter to see what the other has to say at that time. When you get to the end of the story, it has you in such an awe of how God can work. This is a must read, even for those that don't like to read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Touching Book! June 8, 2012
Format:Paperback
I was incredibly moved by this book. It took me a little while to get into it, mostly because I did not have a lot of time to spend reading. But once I got going, I was pulled into the story of the parallel stories of these two people and how God crossed their paths. I would definitely recommend this book! Have the tissues handy, its a tear jerker!
