Editorial Reviews

Every song is contagious! I admit, I wasn't sure going in, because the songs are of a religious nature. But it doesn't matter what he's singing about, the music and the performances are top of the line. This has to be one of the best, most consistant album in Elvis' body of work.

This album is the definitive gospel album by Elvis. The rendition of "Amazing Grace" takes one back to the days of a wooden church in the backwoods. The album picks up swing and movement with "I, John" and "Bosom of Abraham"; two tracks which will get anyone moving (Southerners used to call this being touched by the spirit). The backup singers on this album make use of great alto and melody. For Elvis fans - remember the outtakes of Elvis singing gospel before his performances? This album represents those mini sessions.

Being a Christian and Loving Elvis, after hearing this
CD, I am convinced that Elvis had the love of God in his heart
I don't think he could sing these songs as well as he does without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gospel Music Hall of Fame February 10, 2002
Format:Audio CD
While Elvis may not have lived a perfect life, who amoung us can say we have? I am a devout Christian and Elvis'performance of these gospel songs are inspiring to say the least. ELVIS was deep down a believer and when he had a chance always returned to his first love in music--gospel. He Touched Me shows that ELVIS truly deserves to be in the Gospel Music Hall Of Fame. I wish he had recorded even more gospel songs!!

5.0 out of 5 stars the most fantastic artist of all times! November 6, 2002
By Ozzy
Format:Audio CD
You can take any of the ordinary albums (not filmalbums) and you'll find nothing but incredible good music! I've had the opportunety to listen to his music since I were 12-13 years old. You will not be dissapointed if you buy an Elvis album, he had a great voice. He was called 'the white negro', and that's not far from being the truth. His sound was like listening to a negro man singing spirituals and blues.
Buy all the albums, you won't regret it!
This album is great and will give you peace in mind!
BUY IT NOW! IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Elvis at his best! October 16, 2005

Elvis really shines when singing gospel music, and this album is no exception. He sings the songs with passion & depth. It is evident that he has love for God. I recommend his other gospel albums as well.
