This album was a minor hit when it was released in 1972, it only reached number 79 on the US album chart, but hit 32 on the US Country Album chart and would eventually be certified PLATINUM by the RIAA. It made the top 40 in the UK. It is a good collection of Gospel songs which is made even better with the inclusion of 4 bonus tracks including Only Believe and Help Me, which were hits on the Country and Adult Contemporary charts. While this is a solid CD there are better Elvis Gospel collections now available. Unless you are an avid Elvis fan who has to have every album he released, I would recommend that you pass on this set and get his Ultimate Gospel CD instead. It includes more music.

I own the 2 disc dvd & now I have the cd version. I love them both. Elvis is the greatest & I never tire of his voice

He touched me is a fantastic CD. However, RCA wrecked it by including bonus tracks that don't even belong on this CD. The original He Touched Me has 12 tracks selected by Elvis. Each song compliments each other as Elvis intented. The bonus tracks only takes away from what is already considered a perfect album. Seek out the original if you can.

As a life long Elvis fan, I always felt that Elvis poured his hear and soul in to his religious music. This album represent's that to a tee. The soul and passion in every song is uplifting and honest.
