This is an absolutely gorgeous set of twelve slack-key guitar instrumentals from Cyril Pahinui, one of the true masters of the style. Cyril is one of the many musical sons of the late Gabby Pahinui, a legendary guitar player who helped put slack-key on the musical map, and who obviously passed on a wealth of talent to his family. This album is super-mellow and relaxing, but doesn't sink into sappiness or goo -- the true soul of the slack-key tradition comes through loud and clear... Just the thing to take with you as a soundtrack for your next vacation in the islands! (DJ Joe Sixpack)

Mostly instrumental but some vocals. Cyril is a slack key master. This album will have you feeling the trade winds and the sand between your toes. Very easy to listen and enjoy this album. I also suggest Slack Key Masters, Vol.2. My daughter uses both to sooth her newborn and it works great. It works the same for me, too!
