Editorial Reviews

There’s a lot of rock history behind Adrian Shaw. His main claim to fame in the 70’s is having been a member of Hawkwind from ’75 to ’78, playing bass on Quark Strangeness and Charm which the All Music Guide cites as among the best of that revered bands catalogue. Prior to that, he played in The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. Shaw begat an enduring partnership since 1991 with Nick Saloman to flesh out the Bevis Frond, helping Nick make the change to a studio and live band from a recreation room project. Headcleaner, the third of Ade’s 3 solo Woronzow releases is now seeing it’s first release in the US on Rubric. Ade will be appearing with the Frond as well as Country Joe and the Frond Fish at Terrastock IV in Seattle, November, 2000. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

3.0 out of 5 stars Adrian Shaw - 'Head Cleaner' (Rubric Records) 3 1/2 stars, September 10, 2006
This review is from: Head Cleaner (Audio CD)
For those of you who may've NOT known,Adrian Shaw had been in a couple of notable UK bands. He is a past member of the Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, was on Hawkwind's 1977 'Quark Strangeness And Charm' album and tour, plus most recently a vital member of Bevis Frond.'Head Cleaner' is what I would describe as semi-indepth psychedelic.Does that make much sense? Best tracks here were "Symbiosis",the wailing "Staring At The Sun"(good guitar riffs),"Round And Round","All In The Mind" and "Things I Learned". Didn't have a line-up of players, but I've found the following musicians do appear on this CD,Adrian Shaw (of course), Nick Saloman, Tony Hill and Bari Watts. Who plays what? A decent pick.
