4.0 out of 5 stars Very good for its price
I am an intermediate player. I play twice a week with friends but I'm use to knocking the the ball hard with much topsping. The raquect responses well and have a good control. In the net it feels confortable with good touch. Good power and control. I recommend it for beginner and intermetiate players.

WOW... This racquet really improved my swing. Great product, for a great price!

It is head heavy and it does the work... Also greatly improved my tennis elbow.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good All-Around Racquet, November 18, 2008
By

I have one HEAD Intelligence iTour racquet and two of these racquets and am currently looking to buy a third. It is a good all around racquet for intermediate players. Has a nice weight balance, but for beginners, you might want a lighter racquet (see Liquidmetal 8).

This is a good racquet for those who love to volley like me because it is light enough to maneuver at the net, while not extremely light where you lose all of your power at the baseline.

I wasn't too pleased with the built-in vibe-damp, so I bought a couple of extra vibe-damps and stuck one in each of my racquets. This made the racquet slightly more head-heavy, which helped my baseline game. I have an extremely short backswing, so the weight distribution of this racquet is perfect for my swing.

Overall this is a really good racquet for beginners and most intermediate players. Try holding a racquet in a store first though and swing it around a couple of times to get a feel for it. Here is a link with more technical details on the racquet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, good intermediate choice, January 5, 2011
This review is from: Head Liquidmetal 4 Tennis Racquet (Misc.)
I own this racquet and a LiquidMetal Radical MP. Now that I have come back to playing again for about 3 years, it is amazing how different the two racquets are. The LM 4 is stiffer and much more powerful, but lacks the control of the LM Radical. Some of this difference might be due to the strings and the tensions I put on the two racquets, but nonetheless, I find that I can't really "hit out" most of the time with the LM 4, and I have to shorten and control my swing more, which causes me to decelerate, causing lack of control. I don't know how many times I have hit the ball just deep or outside the line with the LM 4 and said, "with my orange stick (LM Radical), that would have been in". Thus, I use my LM 4 for practice, and my LM Rad MP for when I have a match that I really want to win. It is amazing how I can use the Rad MP like a surgeons knife, placing the ball on the lines or deep in the corners at will. In any case, the LM 4 is a good balanced stick with nice feel, and it is fun being able to intimidate your opponent with a blistering 1st serve using the LM 4, even if it doesn't always go in. One more thing about the LM 4, the beam is much wider than the LM Rad, which I find causes a higher occurence of frame hits when trying to hit with lots of topspin.

5.0 out of 5 stars great pro racket for a full fast swing, August 6, 2009
at first i had a lot of difficulty with this racket because the sweet spot is smaller than with bigger, lighter rackets. however now that i have gotten used to it, i love it. the heaviness of the racket has helped my serve tremendously, making it much faster and lower. the one thing is, you can't be lazy about swinging it, you must make a full swing otherwise you will hit on the outer edge of the racket which doesn't have much bounce and you will hit into the net which is what i did constantly the first 3 times i played on it. this racket it great because it forces you to become a better tennis player, when you connect on the sweet spot with this racket it is amazing how fast and low the shot is. i highly recommend it just don't be discouraged at first because it is a lot different than beginner rackets, once you adjust your swing to the racket the results are awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good racquet for intermediate players., January 6, 2007

At some time or other I think every tennis player has been told that it doesn't matter what racquet you use as long as you keep your eye on the ball, get the racquet back early, move your feet and maintain your mental focus. Well guess what - it does matter. I love the feel and control in this racquet and would recommend it without reservation for an intermediate player (OTA 3.0 to 4.5).

I use it to play a very active singles game where we aim for the corners, come to the net and run down every shot. I like the price too - nice change from buying $200 hype.

5.0 out of 5 stars It PLAYS sweet and LOOKS sweet!, June 3, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
With a Diameter of only 102" the Head Liquidmetal Racquet has a lot of power. but I wouldn't recommend this Racqut to someone who is just taking up tennis. You should probably get something with a bigger serface area. I told you that the diameter on this racquet is 102" wich is not that big. This makes it horder to hit the "sweet spot." If you are just getting started in tennis, I would get a racquet with a bigger serface area so that it will have a lager sweet spot wich will make it a lot easier to return the ball. But for those that are not new to tennis I whould strongly recemmend this racquet. It's very light wait wich gives it more power(if you can hit it in the sweet spot) and its built to last.

I haven't bought a new racket since high school tennis team (over 15 years ago) and treated myself to this racket. It is exactly what I would hope for in a racket! I am an intermediate player who serves and swings hard. This racket gives me an extra boost and good control... and it looks and feels cool! It's light yet substantial. I highly recommend it!

I just got my racquet a week ago. I have not had any problems so far. It comes with a great shock absorber, is light, and has lots of power. I reccommend this to anyone trying to improve their tennis.
