The strong, light metal alloy Metallix in the throat gives the racquet stability and power while the Head Stabilizers reduce shock and vibration at impact. The racquet has an open string pattern that combines with a low swing weight to offer easy access to spin and plenty of ball speed and pop off the stringbed. The pop and speed makes the Metallix 4 a great performer at the net, but the feel from the racquet is comfortable from all areas of the court. There is not too much dampening from the racquet to hinder placement so the racquet feels much more solid at impact than most racquets in its weight class.

Metallix is made of a matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy that is 1000 times smaller than typical metals. Head LMS (Longer Main String) design lowers the bridge section to create a larger hitting surface without making the racquet any larger. The Metallix 4 is a more control-oriented option to the Metallix 6 and Metallix 10, yet still offers ample power and stability. Surprisingly controlled thanks to the "flexpoints" cut into the frame at 3:00 and 9:00.
