Better than Netter!,
By
This review is from: Head and Neuroanatomy (THIEME Atlas of Anatomy) (THIEME Atlas of Anatomy Series) (Paperback)
I have taught human gross anatomy to medical students for 3 years now. Netters is a good atlas but the Thieme atlas of anatomy series is the best I have come across. The figures focus well on specific areas of the body and give a much more information rather than just structure. It is not a replacement for an anatomy textbook such as Moore's but is an essential supplement.

I just love the amazing pictures in this book. Although it is an atlas is also has some really interesting written details that you don't often get in the other atlases. I would recommend all the Thieme Atlases of Anatomy, they are truly worthwhile books to have

This series from Thieme (this is the third book) so far surpasses every other illustrated anatomy, comparisons are almost pointless. Get all three, learn them, pass your exams.

I have Netter's, Grant's, Sabotta. This one stands out. Much much better.
The only one that I think is better is the European (but older) version of Sabotta.

I got this for anatomy class in med school. It is a really good alternative to Netters. Get it for a semester and then sell it back. It was worth it for me.

I have finished all anatomy including neuro last year. Netter is still good but doesnt have any cross sections of brain
this book has all different kind of cut sections but actually missing pictures as whole brain. all those gyri and sulci i had to use other books. Heard Sobotta is pretty good as well with all the pictures they have

Thieme destroys Netter's,

Thieme absolutely destroys Netter's. The Thieme series does a great job of creating images that are easy to understand. The images will stay with you while working in a cadaver lab or clinical setting. Purchase this book (or series) and dominate.

Great book, useful beyond Gross Anatomy,

This review is from: Head and Neuroanatomy (THIEME Atlas of Anatomy) (THIEME Atlas of Anatomy Series) (Paperback)
I bought this book (along with the atlas for neck and the internal organs, and the atlas for general anatomy) to use in conjunction with my Netter's atlas for Gross Anatomy. Most of the med students I spoke with loved Netter's; however, I ended up relying on the Thieme atlas the most. I especially love the atlas for the head. I'm in neuroanatomy now and it's still helpful. I bought an additional atlas at the recommendation of my professor for neuroanatomy, but I still find the that Thieme atlas is better. It shows all the important stuctures you need to know in more than one view. Structures that I couldn't find my other atlas I was able to find in this one.
I highly recommend purchasing this atlas, you'll get a lot of use out of it! I also think the other two books in this series are wonderful as well.

Great pics but lacking on explanation. clinical neuroanatomy for medical students will be a good book to go along with this for the explanation part.

It reads more like a textbook, but with all the atlas information. I never read Gray's anymore. Just read my Thieme!
