5.0 out of 5 stars Let me tell you why I "had" to give it a 5 star rating November 20, 2010

I was going to give this a 4, but after contacting GetAHeadcase with a warranty concern, I have to give it a five.

I bought this as I wanted a iPad case with some style and this fit the bill. It is cool and your friends will think so too!

A few weeks after installing this I dropped my iPad for the first time. You can imagine the sucking in of my breath. It dropped from about 3 ft onto a hardwood floor. I looked and the Etch A Sketch case was in pieces. I picked up the iPad and it was intact, without a scratch. While the Etch A Sketch case came a part, it snapped right back together and held together tight ever since.

The reason I would have given this a 4 star rating is that by the end of the first month of using this, the gold paint on the Etch A Sketch logo was rubbing off. About 1/2 of it was gone. That was a bummer, because that is large part of how folks get the gag of the cover. Well I contacted GetAHeadcase Customer Support and told them about my problem. They express shipped me a replacement which I fully expected to have the same problem. I have been using this for over a month and there is no gold paint loss so ever. So from my experience, and the comments from a couple other reviewers, the gold paint flaking off has been a problem that has been fixed. If you get one that flakes, they will replace it with a new one.

I checked the warranty and it is good for a year. I figure that if the paint it still on after a year, it will continue to be stay on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adds +10 for fun September 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
The headcase etch-a-sketch case is well made and really does make people look twice when they see you using it. Simple, 2-piece, clip together hard case make it look like a toy but does not obscure any features from normal use.

Pros
+ well made
+ easy to open with a quarter
+ lots of fun
+ can leave pad in car and no-one bothers to steal it
+ did I mention fun ?
+ +10 geek points

Cons
- like so many cases, not compatible with the ipad dock
- Can't keep the kids away from it now.

First run seemed to be limited. Hope they make more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well designed September 21, 2010
By skizot
I own one of these cases and it is very well designed. It is sturdy, has a nice felt pad around the center opening plus rubber bumpers that the iPad rest on inside the unit to avoid any sort of damage. All ports and buttons are accessible while in the case and while the home button is a little more difficult to get to, it does not take away from the function of the button. To take the iPad out of the case, you will need to have a coin (dime or penny works best) to slightly twist in the two provided slots to separate the top and bottom portions of the case. Again, a very minor issue, seeing as you want the case to be secure and not easily to open when the iPad is inside.

The rest of the design of the unit is amazing, they very much paid close attention to detail. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a bit of fun with the iPad.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only one drawback
Love the cover, get lots of compliments on it. However, it covers the camera on my iPad. Makes it inconvenient to video my kiddo's.
