Man this is a kool game ! Its a third person shooter with some puzzle solvers. Kinda like computer hacking stuff. Finish the sequence ,type stuff. The first 5 hours your in control of a woman whos befriended by Jack Wade . You play her roughly 5 hours .with lots of puzzles,but once you get the hang of it its get easier.Lots of numerical codes thrown in to boot.Theres also alot of third perdon shooting I'D say 90% of the time. You also get an "IRIS" thing its basically a pair of sunglasses . STANDS FOR intellingent realtime information scanner.Pretty kool you'll need to constantly scan the envinornment to get clues on what to do next. After 5 hours with the chick ,now your JACK WADE again .The main headhunter dude . The weapons are kool and im not a fan of auto aim,but they way they worked it out ,its like real world aiming ,not always on target. The first 20 minutes of this game dont really do a good representation of whats rest to come. And its not a completely linear shooter. Aways save at any checkpoint you find . Some of the puzzles might leave you turning off your console and quitting ,this is no run and shoot only game . I just love lots of shooting, I kinda felt like clint eastwood in this game. aside from the annoying puzzle thingy's.The puzzles are finish the sequence type,it looks like a rubiks cube on a computer.But now there's a free online game guide with all the puzzle answers. I rarely ever review games I haven't played through to completion. Even if I think the game isn't that fun, I still try to stick with it to give a full comprehensive review. This game, however, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. As my title suggests, the main reason I couldn't do it was the combat system.

When I first loaded the game I thought the opening sequence took far too long. I was afraid this game was going to be trying way too hard to be cinematic. Sometimes this works out well, but other times it's just overdone. I feel like "Headhunter: Redemption" is overdone. When I was first playing around with the controls I thought you could do some pretty cool stuff with your character. When I first used the combat system I didn't think it would be that much of a detriment. Then I went into live combat...

Basically the aiming reticule moves around like your hands are shaking uncontrollably. Even when your character is standing still it does this. Now, I've fired guns in real life, I can hold my hand far more still than this game. You spend most of your time aiming all over the place waiting for the "auto aim" to lock onto the target. If you're moving this is ten times more difficult. And yes, you have to use this functionality because you have to hold down the trigger to go into the aiming mode then hit "A" if you want to actually fire the gun. It's stupid and I hate it.

A way to balance the dysfunctional combat would be to have health packs all over the place or make your character invincible to enemy bullets. Neither of these is true and the latter is usually absurd in a video game as standard functionality. There are health packs, but they don't work the same way in other games. They're more like medkits that you pick up and then you have to "equip" them in a totally different screen. So, if you're in a major fire fight there's nothing you can really do about it, but die. There's no health you will run over and it will automatically heal you, you have to stop and go into that other screen. Granted the game pauses when you do this, but it disrupts the combat elements so much that getting back into it could be a death sentence in the long run.

I've never played the first game, but if it's like this I don't want to. The story line is based in the future and you're trying to help the "authority" in that universe control the criminal underground. I think it wants to sort of be a "secret agent" type of game, but it just wasn't fun at all. You go in and investigate security breeches and what not, but once the combat starts the fun ends. I think this could've been a decent game.
