About the Author

Bruce Masterman was a senior reporter for the Calgary Herald for 20 years. During that time he covered every stretch of territory in Calgary and Southern Alberta, writing news and feature articles as well as a regular outdoor column for more than 10 years. He is the recipient of over 20 Canadian awards from the Outdoor Writers Association of Canada and has been recognized by several organizations for his outstanding contribution to preserving, protecting and enhancing Alberta's environment. In addition to his journalism career, Bruce Masterman is a popular instructor of fly-fishing courses and a regular speaker at service and outdoor organizations.
