Yes it does cost a bit more than a standard splitter, but well worth it. My wife and I can listen to the same MP3s now and she can have the sound adjusted exactly as she likes it. I am probably going to buy some more of these to use at my computer to split the sound to my monitor speakers and my good speakers.

Very good deal and a perfect product.

Pros: Works mostly as advertised, seems well constructed.
Cons: Doesn't reduce volume all the way to zero (minor). Reduces separation at progressively lower levels until sound at minimum level is essentially mono (fatal).

These are absolutely fantastic. The only problem as mention by other reviewer is when the volume is turned way down almost to zero it goes to mono. I just turn the main source (e.g. TV, Stereo) way down so I can turn these up a little more. Takes care of that problem. I didn't need a dual device but went through two Radio Shack ones already which each lasted less than 2 months before they started shorting out every time I move and sometime even when I didn't. So I took a chance on these. I have had them for two months now and they have taken more abuse than the Radio Shack ones. They are still working 100%. I highly recommend these!
